  • Precipitates the Problem of Ineffective Leadership

[Read the article: The GOP gets gaudy in Michigan]

I was completely disgusted by the excessive showiness of the Republican party at this function written about in this article. It is very indicative of how wasteful the "Nazis" of the their party are; it would be a mistake to elect one and see a misappropriation of funds occurring in our government... again.

Within that vein, I can't even comprehend that woman's comments at the end of the article. She has an extreme dislike of G.W. Bush and thinks that the Republicans are Nazis, yet she and the people she knows aren't going to vote in the election. Does she have any clue as to the reality of the current situation? When you hold a flashlight up to her ear, does the bean of light shine right through? I would say so. She clearly doesn't understand that her and the people she knows ignorance just precipitates the problem.

Lady... if you want things to change in the Government, you have to be an active participant. It's people like you who are part of the problem in the electoral process. The power behind each individual's vote is a right that you should exercise... or maybe sticking you head in the sand gives you more comfort.

  • Deception... it's not just a cologne

I like the style of the art, but it sounds like it's a load of baloney. The father seems like a failed painter, who figures out that he might be able to get somewhere with his art by the manipulation of his daughter. If the parents don't care about fame, and just want to keep her paintings on the refrigerator, then why do they continue to exploit their daughter and seeking prestige for "her" work instead of pulling her from this crooked road they are on? But they are still making money, hand over fist, so clearly, it doesn't bother them too much.

That aside, it does have a certain appeal to those who are into Pollack and Miro style art. But, if it's based upon secrets, lies, and deceit, then there are no fundamentals to this art. When there are no ethics, there is no truth; where there is no truth, there is absolute zilch.

  • They will be "Yanked" by the end of today's game

I was in an upscale pool hall on Thursday and there were a bunch of Yankees fans there, goading us with chants of "Yankees rule" blah blah blah. My husband and I turned and laughed and kept cheering for Cleveland. I almost bought them a drink the Agnostra Bitters, but instead asked the waitress to get them outta there, that we didn't need their kind there. I felt a "little" guilty for laughing at them, but, hey... they deserved it, after the beating they got.

Game day in Cally! I'm there, baby... with my pom-poms and my Red Sox cap, and my man by my side.

  • What rights?

Speaking of Bush, what was the most disturbing thing about the woman who was tackled by four fed cops at the airport who later "died" (some would call it killed) was that Bush completely defended what these apes did. This was a mother of three children, for crying out loud, who was upset about missing her flight. When did this turn into a police state? The people of this country have no rights anymore. The government wants assimilation and non-thinkers who don't know enough to stand up for what is legally theirs... at least, what used to be theirs.

We're going to be telling our children and grandchildren stories of the past, when life was better, when there was a democracy, and the individual had rights, when the Constitution really meant something, instead of being used as toilet paper.

  • If my vote won't out, then why even bother to vote at all??

[Read the article: The presidential primary scam]

This is an all too common theme that enters the heads of some voters. Due to this, there are many people who decide to not vote, which allows chaos and poor results for a deserving candidate in an election. And the ones who do vote are, more often than not, making a purely speculative decision about the candidate, even if they don't even know the candidate's intent. Do these people even read political news from different sources? Or do these people just read the "yes-men journalists" who assure the public that it will work out better if they vote for truth, to vote republican... that "stay the course" bullshit.

The people who are too ignorant or stupid (let's just call it what it is) to actually find out what the candidates' stand for just rely on appearances: "He looks Presidential." The elderly, in general, are very much guilty and responsible for this. They are too tired and misinformed to make a decision based on reality. And sadly, their votes are more meaningful than anyone else's. These are the grandmas and grandpas who are lonely because they haven't been visited by their kids or grandkids and want to see a broad smile looking at them, saying the things that they want to hear. For the guy with the fake, car salesman smile, he is counting on that. These people who are unfortunately the majority have been in such a daze (or denial) as to what has been occurring for the last six years??? They are averting from their political decisions they made to elect this moron our president.

I live in the next town over from Manchester, NH and I pray that voters here know what's really going on. Two years ago, the people of NH overwhelmingly voted for Al Gore, but it didn't make any difference. Does the NH vote really matter, then? Does any vote matter?

The campaign smiles on the faces of the democrats are slowly fading and it seems that they have lost their faith in the process. And who can blame them?
