Original article: The Smart car is coming

Smarts have already crossed the Atlantic

I hate to break it to you, but Smart cars have been on sale in Canada for a couple of years now. There are loads of them tootling about the streets of Vancouver, and they seem to do just fine out on the freeway too.

Personally, I think the Fortwo is daft, but they make a nifty four-door and a really nice looking sports car.

But the best show OF ALL TIME???

I haven't read Orientalism, but I wonder if someone could explain what Said meant by "feminizing", and why that particular word would be lumped in with all those negatives?

Is hanging worse than any other method?

And maybe our own views about capital punishment cloud our thinking here, but the news of how Saddam will be killed -- by hanging -- suggests just how far Iraq has to go before it's the hopeful, modern society Bush used to promise it would be.

You make it sound like a lethal injection would be acceptable. Whatever the method -- they're all barbaric. The American-sponsored regime in Baghdad is in no position to try anyone for crimes against humanity.
