Did anyone see the Youtube video of her dancing at a house party and calling people the N word and more? According to celebrity gossip websites, it's well-known in celebrity circles that she's a blatant racist.
Her everyday notoriety aside, she drove drunk, she violated probation twice, then cried in jail and they sent her home. If I (totally average joe) did the same, I'd have the book thrown at me.
Also, I am a totally informed, involved citizen. I work as a political organizer for progessive causes, I have dedicated my life to stopping global warming, bringing universal health care, reducing poverty, etc. I also read perezhilton (even though I think he's a moron) and laineygossip.com is the best -- so it's possible to be a tuned-in citizen and also be interested in celebrity gossip.
Although, truth be told, I wish I had a better guilty pleasure. I'm working on it -- perhaps yoga, time at the soup kitchen, teaching kids to read?
What a ridiculous article.
Society has branded her a slut because of some deep misogyny directed at the famous blonde du-jour? What? Are you f-ing kidding me?
She IS a slut. She became famous because she helped release a sex tape that made her a household name. She's been photographed having sex in public since, and uses her sexuality to sell her brand. No, we just calls 'em as we sees 'em.
Paris Hilton has asked for every bit of vitriol directed at her. She has no one to blame but herself. She really is just a gross person -- no redemable qualities.

But it's more useful for people like Cintra Wilson who need to feel all high and mighty that they don't *gasp* read gossip, no, they have dinner parties where they discuss Kant and dissect the latest middle east peace agreement. The rest of us, especially those of us who pay attention to pop culture, couldn't possibly also care about Iraq. I used to like Cintra, but this article has shown her to be the worst kind of elitist -- she writes about Paris while looking down her nose at those of us who have been following the story as well.
Well, it will be over soon. Paris will remain a rich waste of space, a racist abomination. I will continue to hate her.
Cintra: there is nothing more morally bankrupt than Paris Hilton, except for her apologists and "fans."
The point is: choice.
Abortion does not have to be a choice or even a thought during a pregnancy in order for the woman to have considered all of her "options."
Why is it so crazy for a woman to be pregant and want the baby even against the odds that the far wing of the choice movement would consider reasons to not have the baby?
It speaks to the pro-abortion feelings of many in the choice movement that they would get riled up at a movie where the woman wants to have her baby. That it's not "she DECIDED to have her baby," but "she WANTS her baby" without any other thought.
Not every pregnancy is: "should I have it? should I abort it?" Why can't you accept one that is:
"I"m having a baby! WoW!"
