I decry any funding of the pseudo religious abstinence only brainwashing. That being said, I have always thought that teaching children about sex and drugs and a host of social issues was part of the job description of being a parent. I didn't find it difficult or embarrassing to discuss sexuality with either my male or female offspring.
There's a lot of crap that both liberals and conservatives have larded up the curriculum with over the last four decades. It's a common battleground for the hearts and minds. My strategy in dealing with this was simple: maintain open frequent contact with your children. Be involved in their lives. Live your ideals. Be consistent. Talk to them. Tell them what you think.
All the D.A.R.E. and Promise Keepers crap in the world can't overcome decent parenting. It worked for both sex and drugs for my three children. And, best of all, NONE of them turned out to be Republicans.
but after watching this video and the Mann Coulter one over in Broad Sheet today, I'm about ready to start chasing these sorts down the street with a baseball bat.
I've had enough.
I don't read it, except to chuckle over the headlines in the supermarket check-out line, but it has been a fairly reliable source on this topic for quite some time. They seem to be covering the politician scandal beat was accurately as other MSM outlets - more so, in same cases.
Oh... the poor dear.... It wasn't HIS fault... it was that nasty Jezebel, tempting him... the evil wench!!!
Trapped happens to animals. There's scant evidence of humanity enough to construct an actual "animal" out of in this puke's faux morality.
... and long time follower of Matt Groenig, I never warmed to the Simpsons. My favorite strip of his was always "Life in Hell", followed by the zen shenanigans of Akbar and Jeff
But rape isn't just a crime against one person, and we don't prosecute it in order to fulfill any one victim's needs or wishes. Rape is a crime against the social fabric that binds all of us together. The act violates what should be one of our core values as a civilization: that every person of every gender and age has the right to bodily autonomy -- to basic safety in our bodies. When that right is violated and the perpetrator goes unpunished, it makes all of us less safe. Not just because there's one more rapist on the loose, but because that lack of accountability sends a message to other would-be rapists: Go ahead and rape someone. The rest of us don't care that much, as long as it's not us or someone we love. In this case, we might add a caveat: Especially if you're rich and talented and have powerful friends.
made a has of that html.
The point I meant to make is to ask the question of why we allow George W. Bush and Dick Cheney to roam free, treating them with kid gloves while this justified uproar over Polanski continues.
Substitute the word "torture" for "rape" in that quote. Roman Polanski committed a heinous crime... against one person. The rampant torture that the bush regime actively pursued was a crime against humanity writ large.
Put Polanski in jail, if that serves your sense of justice, but when are we going to treat the crimes of bush as the far larger, more consequential offenses against us all that they are?
Elephant dung... please, please hold your breath while you wait for your personal response from the White House.
You can kick your feet and pound your fists on the ground while doing so, as well....
pretty please!!!!?????!!!
Does the name George W. Bush mean anything to you? Remember him? Remember the guy who scorned "nation building" and yet.... there we are ... STILL in Iraq and Afganistan - his two signature "accomplishments".
So much for "liberal" trying to save people or build nations.
You self styled "conservatives" OWN both of bush the small's wars. Just like you own the supply side economic melt down.
I'm a very dark brown haired white male. I have very straight hair... over three feet of it, and thick enough to barely get the hair tie around three times. Yeah.. I'm lucky... I guess... I like my long hair.
But, growing up, you know what I wanted in the worst way? A huge friggin' afro. I can't get a single curl out of my hair, even using concoctions. Go with what ya got, I guess. I think it's all beautiful, up to and including bald heads... even on women.
Donate it to the looniest Republican candidates for Congress that you can find. Hell... put some into Ricki "plays with dead babies" Santorum's presidential bid.
Nah... the repugnantkkklans don't need any encouragement. Give it all to ACORN.
... would still be the morning host on some C market AMer, reading the overnight HS football scores, if it wasn't for Roger Ailes. Same with Glennie Bleckk... They're both run of the mill, has been, aging shock jocks - amoral and compliant (and greed driven) enough to do Aile's, and ultimately, Murdoch's bidding. Anyone who thinks otherwise is probably a dittohead, and thus, intellectually incapable of assessing their own stupidity.
Is that Polish for zerk? You know, the little thingies that you squirt grease into to make them stop squeaking? Just curious....
SO.... An American for Political truth.... If I've averaged about a two quarts of beer (good, American micro brew ale) a day and an once of pot (excellent American Sinsemilla) every couple of weeks for 40 years AND eaten organic foods AND taken vitamins.....
GOSH... does that mean I'll live... like... FOREVER!?!?!?
Hurry please... I need to know right away!!!
