Don't worry your pointy little troll heads

Obama is going to save you dead end Bush supporters from yourselves along with all the rest of us. I long ago gave up believing that ANY of these self described "former Democrats," or PUMAs, or whatever they're calling themselves this week are anything other than hard core supporters of the rank corporate fascism of the last eight years.

NOTHING could be as bad as what Bush has done to this country... NOTHING... Hell Mao Tse Tung would be an improvement.

@ human power

I'm a 60 year old life time Oregonian. I don't know where you live, or hang out, but I disagree with the overall picture you paint of Oregon. Are there racists here? Sure. Overtly? Not that I've seen. The incidents that do crop up are newsworthy due to their relative rarity, not because they're everyday occurrences.

We have a ways to go, but overall I'd say this is a pretty decent place, filled for the most part with pretty decent people. It's a long ways from the days when blacks were denied the right to live here. But then, isn't everywhere?

half right, half wrong, half baked

Elephantman is, once again, only telling part of the story and getting a lot of that wrong.

The assertion that European manufacturers are simply "building what seels (sic)" and CAFE standards be damned is as good an example of this as anything in the post. In fact, the European union has a number of CO2 reduction strategies in force already, including specific mandates for fixed percentages of fleets to be not just fuel efficient, but to be alternative fuel capable.

That's just one example. Anyone interested in the history and effects of CAFE standards can research more. And, of course, if you do you'll find that the situation isn't nearly as cut and dried, nor simple as portrayed in Elephantman's post.

For the record... This monocoastal, unabashed far left liberal owns a much loved F250 which I've learned to drive sparingly.

JWalker has a good point

There's plenty of right out front, in your face racism around. We don't necessarily have to see it in every little sound bite. I have a feeling that many Republican candidates are realizing that an awful lot of us are "the other folks" to them this election cycle... regardless of our pigmentation.

Alan Keyes? Silly? Sure...

TimtukTom offers:

Alan Keyes is a wonderful public speaker, head and shoulders above and beyond any other big-time political figure. Barack gets praise for his speaking, but Barack is just a semi-pro speaker. Alan is Babe Ruth or Doctor J or Jim Brown.

When people had the opportunity to compare them side by side Alan Keyes got 27% of the vote. Obama went on to the Senate. The rest is history.

Yes... Alan Keyes IS silly. Dead end silly.

@lilybean

Speaking of whining.... just go ahead and put your phony Democrat x by McCain's name like you were always going to. Then either put your shoulder to wheel and help, or get the hell out of the way. Equating Obama to Bush reveals you to be either a moron or dishonest, and probably both. Hillary voter? My Ass! is about all I have to say to you myopic frauds at this point of the game.

regulations

So... what's the daily bag limit on "conservatives coming out of the wilderness?"

Is there a season, or can we hunt them from helicopters year 'round?

Just askin'....

just an old white guy

I've been marching since the early 60s. I was tear gassed in Berkeley. I went to jail protesting another, now long ago unjust war. I suffered through Nixon, and the partial catharsis of seeing him gone... the disappoints of Carter... the treason and rank dishonesty of Reagan.... Clinton's wasting of OUR political capital on tawdry sex... Then THIS current incompetent fool.

So... yeah... seeing Obama weather through these last two years, and actually come out on top is an unbelievable experience for me. I tear up several times a day at the possibility that maybe, just maybe this country can pull itself back from the madness one more time.

I don't know why ANYONE would subject themselves to the modern presidential campaign trail, let alone the job itself, but I'm DAMN glad and proud to have had the chance to live to see this and to vote for Obama. He'll be the first affirmative vote I've cast for President since I voted for Shirley Chisholm in the 72 primaries. This time I think we'll ALL win.

photoshop

I've been using Photoshop professionally since 1990. I'm amazed at how these tinhat types think they can really see the things described in the laughable comments above; obviously made by some screaming dead ender who wouldn't know a pustule from a pixel if he had a rather large one on their ass.

Original article: Bush isn't done yet!

Best way to deal with Bush

Ship him off to Gitmo in chains. Turn him over to the world court. Try him at Nuremburg. Hang him from a scaffold. Burn the body. Draw and quarter the remains. Scatter them for wild animals to tear asunder. Salt the earth.

If 'Bama tacks to port

This election and the Democrat party will end up on the rocks... quickly... and deservedly so.

I don't demand Angela Davis as Secretary of State, but CONDOLEZZA RICE? That's a joke, right? Please tell me that's a joke.
