Nice work, Amy. You got it right from my pov. We weren't 16, but at 19 it felt equally daunting at the time.
That this birther thing seems to be keeping an awful lot of very disturbed, mentally ill people off the streets today.
Well... there's an explanation for all these birchers... err... I mean birthers.....
I just heard on the radio that 18% .... EIGHTEEN PERCENT of the citizens of this country BELIEVE that the sun revolves around the Earth... NO... REALLY.... I'm NOT making this up.
Thus.... the spastic meltdown we're witnessing in here from that same 18%
To paraphrase a former occupant of the White House: "Some might call them morons, I call them the Republican Party base"
Long form... HAHAHAHAHA
I have gravel in my driveway more sane than the entire collection of slobberingly freakish birthers in here.
seriously!
Get a friggin' life. You LOST the election. At the rate you bozos are going you'll be lucky to stay out of state custody in the nuthouse.
Louie Louie Dobbs has NO reference to the birth certificate "controversy" on HIS OWN website today.
ooooooooooooooooo
It's ALL part of THE CONSPIRACY®.....
So.... how do we KNOW that YOU'RE a "carpenter"?
Show us YOUR ORIGINAL HAMMER
Show us YOUR ORIGINAL NAILS
Show us anything you've actually BUILT... besides simply swallowing insanity kool aid.
Kriekee....
This is what happens when you defund mental health facilities. We have Reagan to "thank" for this. In a compassionate, realistic country these people would be full of Thorazine and safely stashed away in institutions making baskets or some other productive activity.
The argument that "the police have a tough job" is the most intellectually dishonest responsibility dodge in the lexicon. If someone applies for a job that they can't emotionally or intellectually handle do you know what happens? That person gets fired. On the other side of the "thin blue line" there are NO consequences for ANY misbehavior, up to and including outright murder. Until the cops set about cleaning their own house of the thugs, bullies, racists, and outright criminals that infest it, I will NEVER respect anything about the entire institution. If you don't want the damn job, don't apply for it. There's cops out there that wouldn't make decent drive up window clerks. You "good cops" need to stop protecting the very considerable percentage of your ranks that have no business wielding institutional authority.
That elephantman seems to be the resident expert on batshit crazy halls of fame.
What the hell is wrong with a guy wearing 501 Levis? Hell... it's damn near the national male uniform of the United States. I don't own anything but 501s and intend to keep it that way. You want to know what's stupid? Wearing black suits with the full mufti of long sleeved white dress shirt and a friggin' tie in the summer (or any time). And yeah... I know they don't make them in the US any more, but still.... 501s are as American as any of our national icons up to and including the damn flag! (probably not made in the US anymore either, for that matter)
Claiming victimhood does not trump everyone else's ability to let their kids run around naked. No matter what it reminds you of.
That's like saying because I got screwed when my first marriage ended in divorce, all women should hide themselves in my presence to keep from reminding me of the fact.
silly, isn't it?
Who are those women behind the troglodyte in the photo accompanying this article? In particular, the one makin' ugly face? And just who is she giving the stink eye to, and why?

"How many legions does the Pope have?"
The term "redneck" has a long and complicated, colorful history. Maybe, as an apparent southerner, the previous poster has a particular dislike for the term, but that's probably more a personal objection. Quite a few groups have been branded with it, some willingly. For instance: It was adopted during a coal miner's unionization effort in the early 20s in West Virginia.
And, although the original term referred simply to those who worked outdoors, something Sessions has probably never done, he is, nonetheless a redneck in the current popular use of the word. Probably a cracker, too, for that matter. Certainly a racist pig. And an ignorant hick.
Here's the other side of your simplistic world view: If you don't have a uterus, you don't have an opinion about abortions.
With an alleged memory such as he claims, it's a wonder he can find his way home.
We could help little Al with that...
When "home" is an 8x10 locked concrete cage, it's difficult for even an automaton like little Al to get lost.
In my part of the world "tolerance" means letting your round headed Finnish offspring date Swedes.
Norwegians? Forget about it! Squareheads and Roundheads can't produce viable offspring to pull the plow.
Never saw James Brown (the REAL THING), then, eh?
