You seem to be trying pretty hard to spin Mukasey's obvious canard.

I didn't notice them myself until I scoured the report for anything that might be a mention of the calls. I didn't notice them first, second, or third time I read the report.

And now miraculously you've found the call(s) Mukasey is referring to. The call Mukasey refers to is the one in the letter he sent in a letter just 2 weeks ago. Sounds like Cheney referring to a NYT/Judy Miller article in an attempt to bolster his assertions.

You can tell Karl, sorry, we are not buying it.

one of the knowledgeable, sane regulars replied that it actually may be that Roosevelt did know. His/her point, as best I recall, was that it nevertheless the "right war" to get into.

I believe I had a discussion with you quite a while ago where I argued it was a necessary war and we most likely "allowed" the attack on Pearl Harbor. We had blockaded Japan, we had their code broken, and we left some old battleships in the harbor, but 5 aircraft carriers were out to sea. We were willing to take a hit, just not too big a hit. The American people were not interested in another war, even against Hitler. Pearl Harbor was necessary to ralley the support of the people.

Just like a 9/11 event was necessary to get the American people to capitulate to the neocon powergrab.

PS Still think I'm sane? :)

You can lead an elephantman to water, but you can't make him take a bath.

Could you hold his head under water for a little while? Not long enough to cause his organs to fail, of course.

What if there are no solutions to:

    our sagging economy

    massive debt

    Iraqmire

    health care

    climate change

    What would big media do?

    Really, what would they do?

If Obama will make a bad president because of his bowling skills, what about Bush's inability to bounce a basketball? Remember that famous scene where he posed with an NBA team and couldn't even properly bounce a basketball? Was there a media frenzy after that telling everyone that he wasn't fit to be president?

The problem with Obama's bowling incident was that it was designed to show him as a "regular guy" at the alley and it was beyond obvious that he is not. And not because he bowled a 37. It was the way he bowled. If you have spent any time in a bowling alley, you would recognize Obama's style. It is that of someone who has no idea of what they are doing. And it is that of someone who has not played any type of ball sport. I will bet my house that he cannot throw a baseball 20 feet. He couldn't throw a rock and hit a beer bottle on a stump, yet he is pretending he can.

This is very foreign to a lot of blue collar Americans. How can you not know how to roll, bounce, or throw a ball? We're used to the girls not knowin' how to throw. So what's your excuse?

Obama is no different than GWB, although as soon as it was evident George couldn't play with other boys or even by himself, they got him out of there. He didn't try to play a game.

And who in the world thought it would be a good idea for Obama to bowl without taking him to a private alley first?

Those who are bothered by Obama's bowling style are NOT bothered by the image of a bloated candyass cheering on the troops?

Oh wait, he's a republican, they are used to the image.

I remember Ollie North testifying during Iran-Contra that he would "Stand on my head in a corner" if the president told him to. Such loyalty is what Bush demands. How do so many officers confuse honor and duty with loyalty?

You owe me an apology. Asking for documentation is fair. Being a gratuitous jerk, isn't. And it's "despicable."

You owe all of us an apology for being a gratuitous jerk not just once, but consistently.

What's Reid's excuse? Anybody have any idea?

I wonder what the elders ask of him? But then again it's really easy to just say NO to the Mormon church... I mean just how much power does a religious organization, like the Mormon Church, have? Come on, anyone who believes in gold plates buried in the sand can't be that powerful, can they? Their man Mitt lost so they are out of the equation, right? They still believe in the constitution first don't they? I mean as Americans what is more important than the constitution?

Everybody knows the Mormons don't really like torture or war.

EVERYBODY KNOWS THE MORMON DEMOCRAT IN THE SENATE HAS ENABLED THE KING IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

how come we didn't invade the Middle East in the 70's when OPEC cut production?

OPEC cut production as a response to our logistical support of Israel during the 1973 war. Israel could not have done what it did without US bombs, bullets, and fuel. The Arabs knew this then and now. Imagine $4 gas in the early 70s, which is what would have happened had we invaded.

    Bye Bye Obama.

You just sold your soul along with what was left of the constitution. You'll never get elected.

I will begin campaigning against you as of this moment.

Hell, I might even donate to the GOP!
