Amen

Thankfully, the U.S. remains a bastion of pragmatic sanity in this rising sea of accountability extremism.

Only because this land belongs to Jesus...

chagos

to totallyB

Yeesh, you should be careful whom you call stupid.

Yes, we should all be careful when calling some one stupid.

So chagos, did you comprehend the part in Glenn's piece where the Muslim world had great empathy for the US following 911 but that faded soon after the boy king launched a couple of invasions? Sorry, asked and answered.

OK, you ARE stupid.

Steve Klein

When we see rockets, suicide bombings, kidnappings and terrorism, we wonder, "Isn't the good pleasure of the Jews wearing thin?"

Those kindly old Jews. You know the ones, they blow up entire an apartment building to assassinate one man. "God will recognize his own" sort of stuff. Nothing for a Muslim to be concerned about, right?

I bet you don't believe in forced abortion either, do you Stevie boy? Least not for white, err Jews, I mean.

Steve Klein

I could care less what the international community...

That's the response I expected. You are incapable of realizing just how childish your behavior is.

So you do admit that Israel is occupying Palestinian lands? That's a start. Claiming the occupation is OK because America is occupying Indian land sends you back two steps. Again, you play the child in an adult world.

My Olive Tree

I'm sure Steve supports sending money to Israel to plant and care for olive trees. I mean, Israel's destruction of millions of ancient Palestinian olive trees has created such an opportunity for the Jews. You'd think them Muslims would be happy enough just knowing the trees have been replanted. Yeah Democracy!

Monday, November 16, 2009 04:37 PM

Steve Klein

Do you affirm or deny that Israel is occupying Palestinian land?

Do you understand that the rest of the world considers Israeli settlement building illegal under international law?

Monday, November 16, 2009 04:22 PM

chagos

we'd been attacked multiple times by jihadis before we ever "invaded" a Muslim country...

And who has been the biggest supplier of arms and cash to Israel for decades? That would be the US. Billions every year to buy the bombs, bullets, and white phosphorus shells that kill and maim. We enable fully the Israeli occupation. Did you read Glenn's post or just not comprehend it?

Your child-like thinking is akin to Steve Klein. Children cannot be allowed to make important decisions. Look what happened with George W at the helm.

Monday, November 16, 2009 03:12 PM

Steve Klein

I don't know what the Army can bring forth that would lead "thinking" people to conclude this was not an act of Islamic terrorism. Do you?

Followed by the bit about "only" Israeli democracy...

You are not too bright and that earns you the "your kind" label.

The fear your kind experience is simply the child-like inability to accurately access one's position in the world. You see Islam as the monster under your bunk bed. Grow up and let the adults drive this bus.

PUP

The ACLU is a very large organization, and yes it does a lot of good, but it has an obvious agenda. And I am not into agendas, which is why I subscribe to no one political party. I am into principle.

What if their agenda is the principle of Law? Would you support them then?

We are losing

The comment section is reflective of American's faith in our elected officials to correct even one of the many troubling issues we face today. Most of the best and smartest voices are long hoarse from speaking out to no avail. I can really hear it in Glenn's voice today.

Is it possible the Lieberman amendment could be viewed as an active concealment of war crimes and therefore be an additional crime?

On rendition

White House officials said they would more carefully check better to make doubly sure such suspects are not tortured.

Yeah, those countries had better pay attention when we say Please don't torture our prisoners. Don't make us mad! We might do something about it. Did you hear Michael was murdered? Oh, the humanity. Investigate those Hollywood doctors, the murderers! Michael was such a good dancer, can you imagine what he might have accomplished, if only he was allowed to live!

@LondonLad

"When the fuck are you going to start asking questions?"

He's probably waiting for you to stop asking the same fucking question over and over. Give it a rest.

a good Christian's meekness in the face of Divine Omniscience

You make it sound like it's a bad thing...

The Fix is Easy

We need a constitutional amendment separating The State and journalism. Then we need to enforce it.

That was easy. Next problem please.

@nobby

maybe you don't believe NPR either

For what it's worth NPR just announced that a majority of Americans (50+%) think the country is on the right (as in correct) track. (My sweetie was tuned in, not me.)

Poor pathetic Politburoico. I saw one of their pieces on the news last night and my first and only thought was "Those jokers." They probably work for Rush's crowd...

@johnqeniac

Has the leader of any country ... ever admitted using torture? (including ... Russia under Stalin)

Yes. For example, the Russians have admitted to torturing and executing tens of thousands of Polish officers by direct order from Stalin. It took fifty years but the documents were released in the 90s.

National Propaganda Radio or

National Pravda Radio, take your pick.

Much like the "debate" surrounding evolution and "intelligent design", both sides deserve equal time because it would not be fair to chastise idiocy.

Have some milk with your cookies, NPR.

Some truther said

No balls were dropped in the manufacturing of the events of 9/11.

I read this line and I said to myself, "Oh god it sounds like LondonLad again."

Dude, you never learn.
