Maybe LW and hubby have undiscovered marital issues? Why is husband allowing Uncle Danny to stay so long? One way or another he most likely realizes that wifey is getting upset at least a teeny weeny little bit. Most communication is non-verbal, particularly between family member.
I suggest that hubby is allowing the situation to go on unconsciously so that there will be a growing distance between him and wifey. He's using Uncle Danny as a prop to get in between him and wifey. Believe it.
Robertson's voice is real soft and has a sickly quality. How many times did he say homo? My cat's name is Hobo. Maybe Roberston is saying that the caller was a homeboy. Are we sure he's saying homo? He IS famous for mispronouncing words. Kind of.
I feel certain that the first Hasselbeck kiss landed on Bab's ear.
I hate the Hummer too, just as all of the other readers have said. Yes I do. But I'm wondering if I would hate Hummers as much if the concept of the Hummer didn't originate in the military during Operation Desert Storm. What if the awful auto was just a weird, boxey, gas-guzzler? Is Hummer-hatred symptomatic of a larger political issue??? Hmmmmmm.....those videos were great!
Well for starters there's her name, Bree, as in free, or whatever. Her home town is really boring and that's why she spends so much time on the Internet? Uhm, whatta cliche. The actress absolutely doesn't sound like a 16-year-old girl! And, where is there a 16-year-old girl anywhere on this planet who has such a spotless bedroom??
There is a good deal of rhetoric about Bush's incompetence. True, he's done a half-baked job as our leader. During the last six years, he has also displayed an almost unparalleled narcissistic arrogance.
That said, I don't really believe that Bush's unpopularity is truly based on skyrocketing national debt or the ongoing futility of the war Iraq. What's really going on here is that he has insulted so many people who don't share is ultra-conservative, right wing agenda. He has painted as unpatriotic and unworthy anyone who disagrees with him on the war in Iraq, on the budget, on gay marriage, on abortion, on anything. Basically, he's not a coalition builder; he's a divider.
That is an absolutely terrible campaign add! What does it really say? Bush is trying to make voters afraid of things as harmless as tweezers? And all the screaming! I don't know this candidate, but based on this silly ad, I can only assume he has little to offer the voters.
Not bad, the satire. Sure, it's funny enough. But come on! The article comes off as though it's cool to make fun of this yellow dude's illness. Illness is very isolating. Salon -- show a little sensitivity!
Looking back on the time of the vote for the war in Iraq, can anyone say for certain they knew with 100% certainty that Bush was wrong? Most of use probably thought he was wrong, but were any of use certain beyond all doubt? I don't believe so. Given the fact that the vote was so soon after 9/11, one might wonder whether or not most of use might have made the same mistake. More relevant is what each candidate, including the Hilary Clinton, would do today. I believe Bill Richardson is the only candidate with credible experience in both energy and foreign policy matters. Wake up folks and ask the right questions! Who cares whether she says the "M" word?
Although I can sympathize with the author's early aspirations to become an accomplished long-distance runner, I feel there's more than a hint of snobbishness in the article.
I grew up in the same small town in Taos, New Mexico where Frank Shorter trained for the Olympics. His parents were medical professionals and were considered real down-to-earth types. It's difficult for me to imagine that Frank Shorter would have felt that running in a marathon somehow made him superior or more elite than your average runner.
I think the author is frustrated by suffering an injury early on in his life that prevented him from reaching his true potential.
"Unlike Obama, who had to make his way in Chicago politics on his own merits after his stint as a community organizer and local lawyer..."
Have you read the Chicago newspapers lately? Maybe heard of an innocent guy by the name of Tony Rezko? He was Obama's biggest supporter in Illinois and helped Obama with a sweet real estate deal. Joe -- get real.
"Barrett and William Bastone continued to report on those links for the Voice when Ferraro ran for the Senate in 1992, discovering literally dozens of contributions and deals that involved the worst thugs in New York". Well one can certainly make the point that Obama has some crooked connections too!
I'm not sure whether Joe's usually keen political analysis is biased or simply naive!
Is it just me or do all the Obama supporters on this blog seem to really hate Joan? I'm getting the same feeling from Obama supporters that I have gotten from Bush supporters in the past. Just because a columnist or reader supports HC doesn't mean that they're trying to destroy the Democratic party or that they are racist! Is there no room for dissent in the party?
Obama supporters are becoming just like the Bush supporters that they seem to detest. Now, it seems that anyone who isn't for Obama is undemocratic and racist, or so it seems from reading this blog. How narrow minded!
