AtTheMoon and tempus
[Read the article: A truth teller who deserves justice]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Note that AtTheMoon has said in a better way the things that Rev Jeremiah Wright has said. It's the Bush Administration, not America. Wright just named the wrong entity.
President Obama is referred to by tempus. Hopefully, this will come to pass and bring Change That We Can Believe In.
This article is not receiving much attention on Salon. I think that it should be escalated.
I use the link field that Salon provides. Here, it points to Pat Oliphant cartoons. Many posters do not know how to use this.

Regular Media Morons
[Read the article: The U.S. establishment media in a nutshell]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]When I was young, there was no TV. The radio news was at 9 Pm and then everyone went to bed. Now there is TV and the Regular Folks can watch all sorts of IMPORTANT things like Police chases, Funny Videos, Family Guy and the like. And of course Obama's bowling.
Rev Wright and Ralph Nader are just attention chasers. However if one finds and reads Wright's letter to the New York Times things seem somewhat different. If Wright really likes Obama he would just shut up.
There are people who think. It will be interesting to see the Compassion Forum at Messiah College near Harrisburg on April 13. This is what the media should report at length. I hope that Salon will do that.
Clicking on my name will send you to the Messiah College website.

Compassion Forum
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I wonder how the Compassion Forum at Messiah College near Harrisburg on April 13 will come out. At the moment, their website announces that Sen Obama has accepted. Since then Sen Clinton has also accepted. Sen McCain has not yet but probably will.
Click on my name to see what they are doing.
As for the cartoon, I wonder if it is intended to be political (hehe). It is not going to please those who like the Clintons. To me, the real contest there is who has the best organized campaign team. However, the Clintons can blame themselves for things like this.
This is no worse than the general media concentration on Rev Jeremiah Wright.
My prediction is that the Democratic nominees will be Sen Obama and Michael Bloomberg. Both decry the excessive partisanship.
We need a better way to choose our politicians. A Constitutional Commission is in order to look at this.

Thomas Nast
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]These cartoons can affect politics. Here we have donkeys acting up. The elephants plod along. These symbols were invented by the cartoonist Thomas Nast in the 19th century. His cartoons brought down Boss Tweed and his Tammany Hall. His Uncle Sam and Santa Claus are still with us.
The elephants plod along but may get headed in the wrong directions. Can the donkeys help us? Well, maybe at times if they can get their act together.
The Clintons are typical donkeys. Sen Obama is trying to offer a better change. "Take a Chance on Me". (ABBA) Sen Hillary tries to go back to the good times when Bill Clinton floated up on the DotCam boom.
Today, there are no boom times. A change is needed. Sen Obama is much more likely to be able to calm the Middle East by negotiating. In the Muslim countries, a woman is at a disadvantage. That's not fair but that's the way they are. We cannot vote for the President of Iran.
If, as I think Obama will choose for VP, Michael Bloomberg should be able to get the israelis to simmer down. At least, he has the best chance.

The Donkey System
[Read the article: Why Hillary Clinton should be winning]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think that a look at how our Constitution says we choose our leaders might be in order.
It is certainly true that the Democrats need to revise their primary system. The Republican primary system may be less democratic (small d) but it is reasonable and does produce results.
The DNC is responsible for this mess. The Clintons have had their fingers in the pie so they may have to live with their own ideas.
We throw around the terms Republic and Democracy. "I pledge allegiance to the flag and the Republic for which it stands, etc". We are the greatest Democracy, etc.
As long as we don't have a dictator we will be OK.

Ausra.com
[Read the article: Ask Pablo]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I went to their site with three different browsers. All three got only parts of the information. I consider that Ausra is incompetent and is to be avoided.

Time scale
[Read the article: Thank you, Rush Limbaugh!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Males have dominated females for a million years or so. Sexism has been around for a very long time. Racism, meaning about Black people has been around for a few hundred years.
We all tend to measure time in our lifetime so anything more than a hundred years ago is way back in the past.
This is why learning about history is so important. Sexism has had far longer to get imbeded into our senses. Hence, Racism is more easily overcome.
There are also real physical reasons. Employees are more valuable to many companies if they remain for a long time to become more experienced. Since a woman may quit to become a mother, the odds favor a man. Also, a man is usually physically stronger.
Fair? No, but it is reality.
The current politics go on about experience but male or female, they are all politicians. Click on my name.

Lyndon Johnson
[Read the article: How 1968 changed Hillary]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]LBJ was the one who really pushed the Viet Nam war. President Eisenhower refused to allow our troops to get into the fighting. President Kennedy got our troops involved, something like 18000. LBJ went in big time.
As for Civil Rights, President Truman desegregated our armed forces. President Eisenhower was the first one to send troops into the southern states to enforce Civil Rights. It went on from there.
So how did the armed forces get segregated? That was done by President Woodrow Wilson. The racist stuff peaked about 1910. Before then, the Blacks were off in the cotton fields, etc and not noticed much. Mainly Minstrel Shows and the like.
LBJ got way too involved in Viet Nam and was hiding the costs. His Guns and Butter just caused much inflation.
