  • Fight fire with fire

[Read the article: Barack Obama is a Muslim, and other stories]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama's supporters are younger and more tech savvy. Start off a bunch of emails telling the truth about Obama and McCain. I won't tell lies about McCain but there are plenty of not so nice things about him.

The way he treated his first wife is one.

The Obama's marriage is rock solid which is important. It is the way a marriage should be.

What is really important is what each candidate intends to do.

The economy is tops on most people's minds but that money (and life) waste in Iraq is a huge drag on the economy.

McCain is associated with the idea of staying in Iraq for 100 years. Come on young people, lay it on.

    Take the train.

  • Overpopulation

    [Read the article: Ask Pablo]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Don't produce too many children. Two at most. There are already too many consumers on this planet.

Over the long haul, China will win everything because they are limiting population growth.

  • The real cause

[Read the article: Stop the noise!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Basically, the cause is overpopulation.

I was born and raised in one of the places mentioned (Santa Monica). We lived on Wilshire Blvd. There was some noise during the day but everyone listened to the radio news at 9 PM, then went to bed.

When the war started, things began to change.

Now, the evening news is at 11 PM and that is followed by Saturday Night Live, etc.

There are far more people to make noise and they have improved noisy gadgets.

    Is this an improvement?

As for NYC, one of your Senators just lost the race for her party"s nomination. If she gets down to business, get after her to quiet down the Empire State's biggest city. Presumably, smaller cities would benefit too.

  • Electric car

    [Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I wish that I could get an electric car like that. I'd mount a flat solar panel on the roof.

I live right where the solar insolation is the best in North America so it would run to town and back forever.

As for French cars, I had a Diesel Peugeot station wagon for awhile because no American manufacturer made one. French cars can be odd but it was reliable.

BB must be feeling better (I hope). My best wishes.

  • Solar panels

    [Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Solar panels on the roof of a car would be to charge its batteries. Except for some very specialized cars, the panel output will not move the car. As the nearby Navy base does, the panels can be placed on a carport.

The reason for putting solar panels on the car is only to have the charging source available at all times. Ten minutes to run to town, get careless and run around until the battery is low, park the car in the sun and wander around in a store for a few hours and you have enough to get home.

No, it won't work at night. Although the moon is more important than the sun, the moon won't charge the batteries.

So why is the moon more important? It gives light at night when you need it the most. What kind of logic is this? Go figure.

  • The wise presidents

[Read the article: What John McCain didn't learn in Vietnam]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Presidents Eisenhower and Ford were the only two presidents wise enough to really see the truth. Presidents JFK. LBJ, and Nixon did not get the message.

  • Instead of batteries

    [Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Compressed air will work. Compressed air locomotives have been made and used. They are safe in mine tunnels or anywhere else where there is an explosive atmosphere.

Nanotechnology is promising a real breakthrough. Capacitors that will hold a huge charge. No chemicals involved, just the storage of electricity. This has recently been done experimentally.

Nanotechnology is also promising a big efficiency improvement of solar cells.

  • A smart cookie

[Read the article: Barack by the books]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I can see that Obama is smarter than I am. I don't consider myself dumb, it's just that Obama is so smart.

That's just what I want in a president, someone who is far more capable than me.

Soon, Obama will go speak at the home of my ancestors, the Brandenberg Gate. It should be interesting.

  • Ross Perot

[Read the article: Are Democrats backpedaling on abortion rights?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Remember him? He said, "I don't like abortion but I don't think the government should have anything to do with it".

Other than that, Mr Perot was a poor choice for president.

Congress sits down to make laws. Taxes, banking, safety, and so on.

Then there are the laws that tell people what they can't do.

    You can't rob banks.

You can't destroy other people's property.

    And so on.

Abortion? Not a good idea for a law. For the evangelicals: If you believe that the unborn child has a soul don't you think that God can take care of that?

  • Other languages.

[Read the article: One nation, not just speaking English]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It would be nice if we could go back to the Tower of Babel but we cannot.

My ancestors all came speaking German. They soon learned English and in a generation forgot the German.

Hispanics cling to Spanish and they are losers because of that.

If one wants to get a job on this, learn Arabic, Farzi or Urdu. The USA has a great shortage of such speakers.

  • Gravity

    [Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Each particle of matter attracts every other particle with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

    So said Newton.

Einstein had a more complicated theory.

It ain't over yet. The Pioneer spacecraft is not responding as expected. We live in a universe of unknowns.

Go to the site linked to my name and learn more.

If Bush Rules From His "Gut"

The american people must vote from their butts.

I like the drawing of Binkley in the yellow square at the lower left. The point is really in the square at the lower right.

Where is the title "Opus" ?
