The main point is the social aspect of the book. However, there is another point. The printed book will last a thousand years or much more. Electronic text is convenient but is of questionable durability. Will it last a century ? Maybe. A Blue Amberol is an Edison cylinder record. The ones I own have lasted nearly a century. Tapes and CDs may last that long but not much more.

After wading around in theology we see that Opus believes 37% more in the Nicene Creed than other people. Those of us Christians who do not accept the Nicene Creed are known as Monarchianists and considered heretics. The Nicene Creed is really what Muslims object to. The Muslim cry that God is one, not three refers to the Nicene Creed. The Koran accepts the virgin birth of Jesus and tells about that in an interesting Sura. I hope that Obama wins all this. If Hillary is the Dem nominee, I will probably vote for the Elephant Party. Unless they make an even dumber choice. I like the idea of Michael Bloomberg as an Independent. Be sure to read "Johnny Tremain" by Esther Forbes. It is central to the formation of Bloomberg's character. Mr Oliphant is usually right. In this case, I think that John Edwards is spoiling Obama's chances and Hillary will lose to the Elephant Party. I plan to vote Democratic unless Hillary is the nominee. I'm sure that there are millions who are like me.

Since the Democrats use a proportional system for getting delegates, who "won" by a few points is meaningless. As I see it, the two leading Democratic candidates are approximately tied. The Republicans use a winner take all system so who won does become important. The media just has to report who "won".

"We created more than 22 million jobs". Slick Willie was just plain lucky. He floated up on the Dot Com boom. He did not create that.

Tom Bradley lost the election for governor because the gun control advocates had managed to get a very strong gun control measure on the ballot. Bradley and the gun control carried the big counties but lost all the little counties by huge margins. The media never bothered to send pollsters to places like Alpine County. The gun control measure drew out everyone in the rural counties. They defeated the gun control measure and Bradley who had endorsed it went down with it. You are looking at revisionist history. Go to Alpine or Placer County and ask. These places do not have gun problems.

I tend to be a moderate Republican but I am very disgusted with that party. Now, these Donkeys seem to think that they can manage the country. Based on their current antics, I seriously doubt it. Since the Elephants are a failure, I don't know what I will do. So far, the only endorsement that seems to mean anything to me is from Caroline Kennedy.

What would be interesting would be an hour on CNN with Anderson Cooper moderating a debate between Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama.

This is like the Uncle Josh Punkin Center stories that were on Edison cylinder records for so many years. I don't get this one yet but Breathed is a genius and I am not. Some idiot has tried to use this to take a dig at Obama but that does not compute.

That is very clever. The polls are just beginning to show that Obama can win over McCain but Hillary cannot. I hope that the Donkey Party will realize that if the three faced Queen of Triangulation is their nominee our next president will be that "weird old coot". It is becoming rather clear that our next president will be Obama. There will be two more Democratic debates. The subject of Iraq will come up. Both will say they will bring this to an end. The timing will be much less than McCain's hundred years and the end will come fairly soon. Obama says about the end of 2109. Given the variables involved it's not reasonable to expect an exact date.

Much of the debate will be about "My Health Care Plan". The reality of what will be done involves Congress which can be unpredictable. No president can dictate a health care plan.

This can be compared with the end of the Korean War. Dwight Eisenhower got elected and said, "No land wars in Asia". He immediately went to Korea and brought the war to a stalemate and was then able to build the Interstate Highway System.

Obama says that he is willing to quickly go talk to adversary national leaders. It is fairly certain that he would be able to persuade Ahmadinejad to not interfere with our departure. He could appoint Hillary Clinton to be Secretary of Health and Human Services and let her negotiate a health plan with Congress. Ending the war in Iraq would release funding for that.

Eisenhower had the right idea.
