"Alice'! -

'Media outlets have done a great job of brainwashing people into believing that they can't ask hard questions -- it's just too unfair of a burden to place on them, because then they won't be able to get interviews at all.

Media outlets have lost nearly every credibility -

'And even if it were true, it's vastly preferable not to have those people on the air than it is to let them on the air with softball interviews'.

They are just doing their job (Gods, Allahs, or whatever higher Spirit you are praying too - work)

'Softball interviews create the illusion that they're being held accountable while the only thing that's actually happening is that their message is being massively and uncritically amplified. See the Iraq War to know the results of that'.

That's the Past - Look forward dude - nobody is going for that shtick anymore (well - a few

but who cares about them) - It's going to be a whole New World - You know THE WEB!

I should not be optimistic -

after reading all these comments here - but they make obvious for everybody that the only approach to this tragedy must be the same 'non ideological attitude and wish for 'harmony' (to quote one of Glenns favorite expressions) - Obama has shown in the 'American Civil War' (bad joke I know - but perhaps enlightning) Because I spent a lot of weeks in Egypt - 4 days in Jerusalem and 2 days in Bethlehem in the last three month and I found out there is no other approach who has a chance (not necessarily for peace) - but probably for both sides to find some kind of tolerance for each other - and please Glenn no more crazy polls or I am going to sent you a poll which proves that the majority of Americans believe 'Gaza' is a new Pizza chain or an Indian motorcycle!

happy - next year -

-liberty will improve - (not the economy so) but think about 'Levis' and 'Groenhagen' they already agree (partially) -

'The Watergate Plumbers -

The never-declared War in Vietnam -

J. Edgar's shenanigans -

Joe McCarthy -

Iran-Contra -

FDR and the 120,0000 Japanese-Americans -

Clintons policy of extraordinary rendition? -

Warrantless searches of public housing during the Clinton years? -

RFK's illegal wiretapping of Martin Luther King, Jr.-

Are you two Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? - bebop could have called it a 'bump' - but I had to note the list of Hyde is still much more impres... - sorry 'opressive' - that the one of Dr. Jekyll and let's not forget the bad dude still loves to waterboard (you really should give that up it is not very patriotic) - AND he calls one of the few decent lawyer on this planet a 'sissy - and I also had to note that Jekyll still sides with the "Socialist" Bush (how unhot) - Doesn't he know yet that stupidity destroys liberty.

canuckistan -

thanks a lot for your letter - If there would be another writer like you on this thread - it could be the start of a decent conversation - I never could join so - because I am as ideological poisoned as the rest of the writers on this thread and I wouldn't want to reread one of these ugly and awful letter later - so I might keep myself busy fabricating more polls for Glenn where the majority of the minority of Americans who find Israel on a map will explain the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel - and after I will have sorted out everybody who thinks Palestina is in Iowa - I will sent the result to Glenn for his next post!

now i understand -

I think a lot of the posters here are not able to change sides when it comes to Israel. They find themself always on the same side. They are opposed to the Dick Cheney/John Bolton/National Review/neocon ideology and think that this ideology means being consistent.

The ones who -- when it comes to Israel -- suddenly switches sides and starts sounding like a Bill Kristol or a Heru acolyte alligning themself with the thinking of the further right and left wing fringes.

A lot of things suddenly change whenever ISRAEL is involved. And you might want to think about why that is -- what is it about Israel that makes you change sides, trying to avoid the

trap to be put in the Cheney/Kristol or in the Heru Sinnard camp?

You are naive or an idiot if you see Israel like every other foreign country. There is too much passionate attachment or antipathy for it. Can you understand it? I highly doubt it.

sinnard -

you are right I shouldn't have put you in the same camp with heru -

he defenitely got a problem with soap but it's kind of your fault because you wrote

'This is fun'!

and

'Come on apologists! Keep the excuses coming'! And the 20% arab distraction is just another bullshit trap to deflect criticism. Don't fall for it. Just another distraction to deflect criticism, something that the Internet Propaganda Israel First Troll Army specializes in'.

and I totally misunderstood you - Now I know it was just the joke of an 'noninventionalist'!

ask you for something - but just for the New Year - and now that maureen is also here could you please write something about the damage the wrong ideology could cause in the U.S 'debate' over Israel/Gaza - that could develop into a very interesting threat!

Friday, January 2, 2009 02:13 PM

okay glenn -
