or as my grandma stated -

don't become a politician, honey - ypu don't make enough money and everybody hates you -

and in restaurants they only give you a better table in Washington - In the real world you have to sit close to the kitchen!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 09:14 AM

or as my granddad used to say -

the problem with American Politics is that you only get losers who couldn't make it in the real world - and then they have to take these sh...y jobs!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 09:17 AM

I forgot -

to exclude Obama (the problem with American Politics is that you only get losers)

Thursday, December 4, 2008 06:39 AM

white is right -

it is not silly if kitt unconsciously make his point in a much broader sense -

Our family is American, American Indian, German and French and after 911 there wasn't one 'FBA' (Full blooded 'American' Democrat or Republican) who wouldn't have tolerated torture

'to get the evildoers' and one of our French relatives blamed it entirely on the 'Wild West heritage' and the American preference to solve conflicts with brute force.

As a HBG (Half bloodied German) I realize that the Germans used to be in the same boat (in a matter of speaking) but after the second WW the Americans did a very good job in reeducation - and so sixty years later the 'Germans' had to reeducate their American

relatives that torture is a 'no-no' under ANY conditions. And now the torture question has become the 'Gretchenfrage' in our family and the right question to judge the character of every person we come in contact with - And if we get a Feinsteinweaselanswer the person ( if she or he is worth it) gets treated with a Potpourri of waterboardingfilms.

and to answer the 'pragmatic' question-

even there the definite answer seems to be No to torture and if you insist on calling Obama a Pragmatist he will do what he promised.

this was not very nice derbig?

'If Glenn was here in the good ol' US of A, he would know that the only commensurate response to the entire "War on Terror" is one hell of a case of National Amnesia! Doesn't Mr. Greenwald see that the best and brightest young things are all working assiduously to produce one of our greatest National Amnesia's ever?' -

And I always thought you were on our side?!"

And about this Amnesia thing - 'the brightest young things' might forgive 'the stupid old things' that they screwed up this country beyond believe - but forget about it - NEVER - 'Amnesia' is no option - and even the greatest, bi-partisan effort by Obama and his Administration, assisted by the news media might not be enough to repair the damage of the old farts!

Take that!!

(and I love your sincerity man)

Thursday, December 4, 2008 02:12 PM

and by the way -

my dad and his friends tried a lot of the super-radical, street-marching, burning-things-down, take-no-prisoners, outside-the-system revolution working thing - but I guess it didn't work out that well - Could we please now try another concept?

Friday, December 5, 2008 03:59 AM

and about this revolution thingy -

how often does reality have to tell the fools that we are right in the middle of 'THE REVOLUTION'

(even if the label says something completely else) - But you might try to climb out of the bubble and look around and then you might realize the question: 'What would nonviolent revolution in America look like' - already has been answered by millions of Americans, who don't (can't) pay their mortgages and Credit cards anymore -and our 'Revolutionary' of the week is probably

'The Donald' who just told the Deutsche Bank, that he is unable to pay back a loan of over 600 mill - (Touche!) That is much - much more effective than anything adnoto could dream up -

And even if the government will socialize all the Banks in the coming year (and a lot of the main industries too) the outcome will look like a REAL REVOLUTION - I promise!

Friday, December 5, 2008 05:49 AM

che pasa?

- who wouldn't like to believe in Political or social reasons for this Revolution thingy - but

even the 'mother of all Revolutions - the Frenchy one started with a cash flow problem.

Louis XVI needed some dough and at the beginning of 1789, he called the Estates General to vote him more money. The Estates General passed, and the Parisians supported the Estates General and decided on a little Bastille storming. That's how it works dude - all the other 'agendas' you have to try on a different planet!

Friday, December 5, 2008 05:56 AM

and last week I met a man -

who had this theory that even the American revolution was mainly a 'money thing' -' the British came up with this series of trading regulations that minimized wealth and stymied economic growth in the colonies. These really p... us of much more than any political differences between Britain and the colonies... (and I always was so proud of this freedom thing)

So what che pasa?

Friday, December 5, 2008 06:14 AM

and as for the People themselves -

they are not at all utterly passive about THE core issues- their economic well being - and you will notice that in the coming month - and you even can call it a 'right wing rebellion' if it pleases you!

Friday, December 5, 2008 06:33 AM

and 0 hey

did you ever watch the interview with THE Donald when he trashed Bush - didn't he sound much better than adnoto?

So my nomination for Revolutionary of the weeks stands - THE DONALD!

and sorry Che Pasa , adnoto, heru - in comparison you are just a bunch of amateurs!

Friday, December 5, 2008 06:42 AM

and we -

could name the Donald the most promising 'anarchist' of the coming month too (after the Detroit Three) because after he is finished with his no paybacktime a lot more banks will need

a lot more government money. And that's what you really can call distributing the depth!

Friday, December 5, 2008 06:53 AM

oh sorry i have forgot shooter -

no life is not good - and you and your friends are still responsible!

Friday, December 5, 2008 07:03 AM

but -

i never won an argument with facts, logic and rhetoric, and true - also never with rants and insults. Could you help me Kovie?

Saturday, December 6, 2008 06:08 AM

lordy arty -

you are a real character - where could I meet you for a cup of torture?
