is the impossibility to prosecute the low-level torturers, sinnard, adnoto LL or heru -
Somehow they must be shielded by powerful policy makers - or could a probe of these torture allegations complicate Glenns agenda big time?
But on the other hand - How -- exactly -- would our decision to prosecute OUR tortures complicate Glenn's agenda big time"? With a huge badass majority, and some whimps who are always stupid anyway, what -- specifically -- will happen in the event of those prosecutions that won't happen in their absence that will "complicate Glenns's agenda big time"?
and in case of 'wondering' - Have to to be just a part-time-pazifist for a few days - got to work seriously on my 'badassery'!
'The "diversity prediction theorem" is part of the most cutting-edge thinking. Scott Page, an economist at the University of Michigan, uses mathematical models to demonstrate that a diverse group will solve a complicated problem better than a homogeneous group. In fact, diversity is even more important than expertise. In other words, a bunch of white male brainiacs won't usually reach the best conclusion's'.
I just thought the same thing!
"After all these years of thinking that I was just a malcontent. Reading this blog and the facts that it contains has proven to me that in fact our country is falling completely out of control".
Do you know that we were all waiting for you!
Here I tellu you what to 'do' adnoto -
This autumn there will be hundreds - probably thousand of people are 'Dancing against the Great Depression' - and you can be one of us - in New York - Washington - Berlin - London - Paris - or Rome - And if even prison inmates in the Philippines can 'do' it - you - and everybody on this blog can 'do' it too - (and I promise - you are going to feel so much better afterwards)

but I just thought I finally should tell adnoto and heru that I admire their hero too: -
"Jackson's equal political policy became known as Jacksonian Democracy, subsequent to ending what he termed a "monopoly" of government. The Jacksonian era saw a great increase of respect and power for the common man"!
'Instead of constantly seeking validation from others as Obama does. If we could turn him into Jackson (Andrew not Michael) - He'd be able to make a decision, without worrying what his critics might say about it".
'Do or do not, there is no "hope."?
You mean you went in ONE post from 'not being a pessimist' to a 'there is no hope'-person?!.
How do you do that? - I try and try and never best you in absurdity!
"I have only two regrets: I didn't shoot Henry Clay and I didn't hang John C. Calhoun."
Now you exchange the names 'Clay' and Calhoun with whatever name you like and you will feel so much better - adnoto!
that adnoto is not a pessimist.
Welcome brother!
and I blame it ALL on polls - Last time I blamed it all on Hollywood - but I guess in a case where the Attorney General is waiting for a 'public reaction' to appoint a Special Prosecutor
you just have to produce the right polls and you should not ask Americans these idiotic questions if it is okay to torture terrorists!
You have to ask them if it is okay to torture their grandma and THEN you get a 90 percent majority for prosecution - But as I complained before this seems to be some kind of weird
'democracy in progress' - Jackson (not Michael) - never would have stood for that!!
"The first detonation occurred in only the third week of the administration, soon after a Justice lawyer walked into a courtroom in California and argued that a lawsuit, brought by a British detainee who was alleging torture, should have been thrown out on national-security grounds. By invoking the "state secrets" privilege, the lawyer was reaffirming a position staked out by the Bush administration. The move provoked an uproar among liberals and human-rights groups. It also infuriated Obama, who learned about it from the front page of The New York Times. "This is not the way I like to make decisions," he icily told aides, according to two administration officials, who declined to be identified discussing the president's private reactions. White House officials were livid and accused the Justice Department of sandbagging the president. Justice officials countered that they'd notified the White House counsel's office about the position they had planned to take'.
Why don't you never ever listen to me, Glenn?
there is nothing worst than writers who give complicated answers to easy questions!
(besides easy answers for complicated questions)
most of the time I understand what ondelette actually wants - but what does ID want?
And ID if you are at it could you explain what LL actually wants?
the words of a famous American philosopher (female) :'Only dead fish go with the flow"
I'm really glad you took my advise by calling 'ondelette' - 'omelette' and if you did it by accident you are definitely on the right way!
