may I recapitulate -

- first we have this Russian Ekaterina Jung who calls herself Cathy Young and writes (of all magazines) for something called 'Reason' and who has - like a lot of other Russian emigres - this weird 'hobby' to accuse good leftleaning western souls to be harboring sympathy for Russia - (which wouldn't be bad at all) - but then she insults Glenn about supporting, Putin's internal repression and oligarchical rule; and overarching anti-Americanism, or -- as she puts it -- overriding allegiance to "the cause of sticking a finger in America's eye." And Glenn doesn't like that at all (understandable) and he tries to prove, that he doesn't like to stick fingers in Americas eyes by bringing up 2002 again and Saddam and the tactics of the 'Neocons' (with a lot more coherent words) - but he also objected again to "the misleading, one-sided propaganda from our political and media establishment depicting Georgia as the sweet, plucky, innocent, freedom-loving victim of Russia's "unprovoked" attack last August".

- AND THEN - a kind of naive soul (hack) stumbles on the thread, because he knows a lot about Georgia and he loves Georgia and wants to start a honest discussion about the country but soon has to read that he is terrible besides the point and that he might be a Neocon himself and finally he gets confronted with all the hobbies of the UT writers - from ooms fixation on his 'bleeding conflicts' to blockquotes - Herus stupidity and Jebbies love for

patent leather pumps - I truly enjoyed that because I also love pumps and I also always had this hobby hating the 'Neocons' - but now I kind of got over it and my latest 'rage' is Obama and the American election and when my daughter was much younger her hobby used to be the Mickey Mouse Club (no comparison to the American election or UT) - and she for a long time managed to relate every problem in her life to the pages in the comic books

(to be on topic again) - but now as she has grown up she is more into 'Dada' and that's why she loves this blog so much - because in the good old times UT writers like LWM and Timberman - together with the help of GC and the Mooser and ALL the others - very often created a very conscious and perfect piece of Dada - and that's not easy - because you have to come up with the right amount of incoherence and absurdity - and it also has to be

a little bizarre to make it perfect - But with this thread - what you think, Jess - did we do it again?!

oh - how fondly I remember -

- how fondly I recall 'THE TEMPLE OF DOOM' - I think I saw it just after "THE HUNT FOR THE ANTHRAX KILLERS' and Glenn wrote a pretty good review - the UPDATE II: (hey it rhym's) 'There's no need to start manufacturing all sorts of scare scenarios about Bush canceling elections or the imminent declaration of martial law or anything of that sort. None of that is going to happen with a single brigade and it's unlikely in the extreme that they'd be announcing these deployments if they had activated any such plans. The point is that the deployment is a very dangerous precedent, quite possibly illegal, and a radical abandonment of an important democratic safeguard. As always with first steps of this sort, the danger lies in how the power can be abused in the future'. - or to translate it into English:'I luuve the 'Paranoia thread' but don't don't go overboard or we have to do a 'LIBERAL INTERVENTION'!

Hey and don't forget to vote for Obama gals and guys - if you don't believe me learn his speech from today by heart (if you got one adnoto) and I promise you will feel much better (no more tickets for 'THE TEMPLE OF DOOM' - and there is hope LVM is back...

Hey Eucalyptus -

'Godwin's Law of Nazi Analogies: As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.

The online tradition is that -- generally speaking -- the person who makes the comparison loses the argument. I mean, it's not like one can't sometimes make a reasonable point by making a comparison to facism, but it's usually a sign of desperation'.

bearpaw1 - in the War Room -

where Alex reports about e-mails from a entity called the Republican Committee of PA which

is warning that “Jewish Americans cannot afford to make the wrong decision ... Many of our ancestors ignored the warning signs in the 1930s and 1940s and made a tragic mistake. Let's not make a similar one this year!"- and vote for Obama -- Oh wait --- I think over there they want you to vote for McCain - But how could that so if America is in danger to turn into a 'Nazi Regime' and I used to think that Nazi Analogies are truly sick and anybody who uses them should be punished to become a tour leader in Dachau but I guess i am just confused an hope that this insanity will stop next week when Obama is elected!

John -

you are very welcome in the 'Temple of Doom' but the temple would lose all excitement if we couldn't replay every day the battle of the damn leftiess against the Chimpy McBushitler - It is so -- hot!
