good lord - Amity -

now you want to know what cats are?

How about if we say that there always will be some who make their decisions based out of fear, resentment, and intolerance — and some who don't?

And we could even call the former "the authoritarian cats," but at least that is more

of a 'psychological' valuation than a political or ideological one. And as you might know -

our former President gave 'ideological decisions' a very bad name - and you are right - that

shouldn't disqualify the more 'human' - the more empathetic - and thus the better ideology -

but again these are not 'political terms - and somehow I am much more comfortable with them. And I don't think of Democrats as "left" and Republicans as "right," and I don't confuse people who are religious with people who are intolerant zealots. But as a poster mentioned before - (and I - again and again) - that 'lately' political labels have been used in such a inflationary way - that 'some' of them don't make any sense at all anymore (as Glenn (G) has found out too) -

And your 'vegetarian example' is a very good one - because nobody would 'confuse to be a 'vegetarian' with a 'political' label" - (and you tried this trick before) -

But cats are just cats!!

and Amity you (of all people) - are still waay too pessimistic!

-the unwillingness to 'articulate' constantly the basic tenets of liberalism — equality, justice, the rule of law, free enterprise, civil liberty, doesn't mean a growing number of people believe in it -

And you mentioned Warren Buffet - Doesn't it give you hope that a so called 'capitalist' like him or Bill Gates shows a lot more of the above - than some of his 'slaves' in the so called 'middle class' - You know there is an election going on in Germany - and guess who is going to decide it - Not the Poor - Not the Rich! - the always 'suffering-always complainig Mercedes and BMW driving-middle class!

and it's weird -

I always pictured Chris as a rodeo clown - and thanks Kid for reminding me -

But Beck is much too 'ueppig' - if you know what I mean!

- but on second thoughts -

it actually would have been waay more cool to base your post on the commenters of your blog -

'The left-right confusion of UT" -

It could have been A FEAST - Glenn!!

how exciting! -

Glenn posts some truly 'transformatable thoughts' and the place is buzzing with all kind of interesting things and thoughts - So: 'Six Things' - as the lovely Holly would probably say.

1) Forget Glenn Beck - he is just one of these idiots who tries to be 'hot'!

And somebody younger - (does he have a daughter?) - must have told him: "You either have to be a 'comedian' or somebody who has "freed' himself of any type of 'ideolgy - to 'make' it in contemporary America - (Sorry Amity! - and Obama knows that - by first trying to get rid of his 'ideological predisposition' and now being a very 'cool' comedian) -

Which brings me to -

Nr. 2) It's not my fault that it took so long on UT to sink in - I tried very hard to show everybody how much fun it is to to be a walking-talking contradiction!

and Hey!!

3.) Increasingly, there will be even greater difficulty in understanding not only Beck's political orientation - not only the movement that has sprung up around him but the whole "Spiel' -

BECAUSE -

4.) Since 3 years I meet more and more people around the world, where even Amity would have a hell of a time figuring out what they are - (1/16 Left 1/32 right 1/12 conservative - etc. etc. - you get the point!)

5.) What to do with these kind of people?

(Hey!! - again - That's the most thrilling question you could get out of Glenns post!)

They make terrible poster at 'Left' blogs - at "Right" blogs because they are actually all what Glenn was writing about:They don't fall comfortably into the conventional "left-right" dichotomy through which everything is understood. - They are not even ' Independent' or "Libertarian" and you a right Glenn far far more interesting than Beck himself is the increasingly futile effort to classify these people to which politics they have connected themself.

Now -

6.) Is that bad?

No?! -

"Because that's when conventional political language ceases to be useful".

Isn't that's quite nice? -

Because to be honest - it's not very 'creative' - it's actually kind of boring- as the constant stupid repetitions on right and leftwing blogs proof - and the fact "that more and more people appear to have NO actual, identifiable political beliefs. "That they are just mutating into whatever is likely to satisfies their emotional cravings of the moment and fears, resentments and religious principles seem fixed, but not political beliefs helps a lot to make all attempts to classify - or demonize this new breed of cats - completely useless!

(And did I tell'ya I luuve cats)

you absolutely-totally-got IT, Glenn -

now I can stop posting!

oh - Glenn -

our countrymen just hate to loose - especially in football and wars!

thanks AI -

If only 1% of all the households are upper class with 34.3% of the privately held wealth -

and 19% (the managerial, professional, and small business stratum = the American middle class - right?) - hold 50.3%!!

No wonder they got this awesome power to run this country! - and the greedy basterds just leave 15% to the so called 'bottom' (wage and salary workers)' - Got that scuzza - it's just like Germany where the middle class (YOU!) - is "King" too!!
