I see - I just came back in time -

to stop the: "Who is as bad as who war" - and Vural the 'terrible Turk'- (his own words)

says: You also got to stop to compare the incomparable. See - Vural is a Turk from Istanbul and if you would compare him to a farmer from Anatolia he would get really mad -(probably as mad as Obama, if you compare him to Bush) - And THAT'S the point - In such a "thrilling theological debate" (as another poster wrote) -you always FIRST have to consider the social or educational background -

There is no: "The Muslims" -

Think about the differences between a dude from Alabama and a Banker from New York - then multiply it by 10 and you might get close to the difference between a 'cool' dude from Istanbul and a farmer from Anatolia - And they are both Muslims - and it's not about putting the farmer down - He is probably one of the most guest-friendly persons you ever met.

But he might live in a completely different century then you -(that's what Vural says) - and there is nothing wrong or racist or bigot or 'political' about recognizing this fact - and that

he learned that gays are 'evil - or that a daughter who brings shame to the family should be killed. You could recognize that too, Glenn - without stressing some gay bashing in Alabama - Look at it as some kind of 'package deal' -

(Attention:joke!) -

The tremendous 'charme' of some Muslim could come with as much baggage as the 'charme' of an American Banker! But they are NOT comparable - because in the case of the Banker it might be 'uncivilized degenerated greed' and in the case of the Muslim the problem I just described - And there is a change that it both wears of with time (and the softening influence of another culture). -

My dad has seen Vural changing from a "terrible" authoritarian Father to a pretty relaxed one - just by living in a city, where the girls in summer run around 'half naked' -(as Vurals says) - So - I'm not worried - We might become a 'Muslim' Nation in 50 years - but it will have absolutely nothing to do with "freaky backwards Religions -

It can't - and you probably should start discussing this issue in a manner which takes everything I wrote into consideration!

and Bill is right! -

Germany is going to be a "Muslim" country too in 5o years - that's why i now go to Vural for dinner - (sucking up to my future - how would Che say? - "Overlords"?!)

I especially like -

"confounding the predictions of those who consider violence and conflict inevitable,"

Glenn couldn't have said it better!

or even the Pope -

loves contradictions (kind of) :"Arriving in Jordan May 8, the 82-year-old pontiff expressed his "deep respect for the Muslim community" and paid tribute to interfaith dialogue initiatives launched by Jordanian leaders.

"We can say that these worthy initiatives have achieved much good in furthering an alliance of civilizations between the West and the Muslim world, confounding the predictions of those who consider violence and conflict inevitable," he said in a speech at the Amman airport".

how could I forget -

"CNS STORY: Pope opens Holy Land visit with call for tolerance ...

8 May 2009 ... Pope opens Holy Land visit with call for tolerance, visit to disabled ... him to make decisive moves for peace between Israelis and Palestinians, ... and care for Muslims and Christians with disabilities free of charge. ... As believers, he said, Christians are convinced of the power of prayer".

war - war - war - war -

it might be true that Americans are much to fast drawing that word from whatever -

We have a war on Terrorism - on drugs - on Fox - and thank you Glenn - reminding me that

I use this world occasionally as carelessly as you do - and I can not stand the Pope (he is much too 'catholic" if you know what I mean) - but even I don't think that his careless words are even close what Mr. D. or you are Implying - I guess he is just very familiar with all the problems

Christians and Muslims have living together and he forgot his usual: 'Calling for a greater strife

with intolerance"!

tempus -

'The crash needs to be such that even they lose it all'

I guess you are talking about 'money', 'dollars', 'dough'. But if you are just worried about the dough isn't it kind of shortsighted? Let's say you are poor or part of the remaining rest of the American middle class you would have to x yourself of first. And about that idea of: "WE the people who matter TAKING it from them by force". You are right - that might be a much more effective and faster way to commit suicide!

'tempus'

"Mainly I am just waiting for the entire house of cards that is the US empire to come crashing down once and for all. That would be best for us and the world at large, really'.

If I read letters like yours I always wonder how much more 'crashing' you want to see?

I just 'hope' -

that Cheney is going to shoot the right 'friends' when they are going to storm 'the... the...

the... 'Palace'? - (right - Che?)
