I hope you don't mind being 'bunched' together - but I want to thank you both evily - because it always helps me to decide what I'm not if I'm reading what I'm suppose to be.
So let's see -- (not necessarily in this order) ---
I'm for ending our militarism!
I"m for civil liberties!
I am for the 'rule of law" - (not necessary the American one - but Glenn for sure wouldn't like me to to explain that further because it would be around 20 pages) - but I don't know about
this thing you guys call "preventing additional entitlement spending"? -
If you mean another "stimulus" to create jobs - I'm all for it - and as we have discussed before -I'm totally absolutely crazy for General Health Care and the public option - and tons
and tons of other issues i believe are important - (like the right for women to decide themselves if they want to have an abortion) - AND sometimes I'm amazed about myself - that I can have all these 'priorities' without truly "prioritizing" them -(Sorry Chris to disappoint you) -
But as Forrest Gump said in Forrest Gump --- well you know it!
because I so many (often contradictory
Yeah, pieceofcake is another one of those serious You can see them everywhere as well, explaining how we must "compromise" on foreign policy, torture, and police state, or we are impeding the progress of the progressive agenda, where the real priorities lie. We were told this is the case plenty, during the campaign and up to this very day, that minor issues such as Foreign Policy and Civil Liberties are pawns to be sacrificed in the King's Gambit.
Unfortunately the joke is on the prioritizes because Obama is too busing sacrificing their dreams to accept their gambit. What President Obama considers a necessary priority, e.g. endless war and torture (Peace Laureate Obama said as much in speeches like the one he gave to the VFW), is not what the people that voted for him consider necessary priorities.
Oops.
"then you surrender any right to complain about anything the US does militarily, because at least you can have an abortion and that's more important to you than preventing mass murder of civilians in wars. cool".
No that's exactly what I won't do -
(but I understand - keeping all these different priorities in order is very complicated)
"You need to sort out your priorities".
That's what I did - And as we both now found out - that's why I came to completely different
conclusions than you are!
"So, what reason is there to believe that we're not presently torturing prisoners? How would we know if we were"?
That's very easy - you live in America and in contemporary America EVERYTHING is known -
because there are all these people who love to be on TV - write books or give anonymous interviews especially if you get some dough for this stuff - and that's why in old America the
CIA did all this stuff and everybody suspected - and nobody knew - (in a matter of speaking) - and in new America I even learn how Bill Clintons penis looks like - and that's why you would know very fast - if we were!
"But your statement that the French Resistance carried out terrorist acts floors me".
Me too - and I never got an answer - Not from Glenn or Ondelette.
I thought we were just talking about "Foreign Relations" and there the difference between Bush and Obama is like - Uuh - could i use Ron Paul too? - Like the difference between Ron Pauls
thoughts about the right to have an abortion and mine!
I agree with Ondelette - America HAS to learn to use its power in a peaceful way - If it doesn't -
---- What's the temple of dooms favorite expression: WE ARE FUDGED!!
how complicated life could be - The very peaceful, peacekeeping Germans are finally 'pulled' into a "war" - and as you are far away from Germany - and you probably have just this quote from Gutti -I can tell you it took the peaceful peacekeeping Germans a very long time -(being shot at - and taking back dead peacekeepers) - before they finally shoot back. And that's why the Americans (you) used to call them Sissies -(or something like it) - and that's why I - and the majority of Germans want out of Afghanistan- and leave them to their misery!
I never would talk to others behind their back, that's why I post here - and as some Norwegians already sufficiently have explained - I guess don't have to tell you "the precise differences in foreign relations actions between Bush and Obama" - (you can read it all in their "Laudatio" for his Peace Price) - and please - No "comeback" about:"He didn't deserve it", because I agree -He didn't deserve it YET. - And if you have missed this wonderful example about "the precise difference" you might want to go back to the Archives of the last 8 years - and read what the world had ro say about 'the foreign relation actions of Bush.
(and I am really not a "Jackass" - I am this very nice and peaceful person! - Yes!!)
