lets leave Salon
[Read the article: Obama's double magic]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Finally one Salonista came up with some pretty interesting thoughts but the response - like most of the letters to some of the other "election" articles are more and more disappointing.
It reminded me on one of the favorite jokes of my little brother - At a White House reception one delegate from a Third World Country asks another: Do you have elections?
The answer: Yes evely morning!
Guys!
Evelybody knows that - given the choice - America always will elect the "Buddy" you like to have a beer with. But don't forget we are a bunch of very busy people. Some of us hold
two or three jobs and we don't have the time to spent it with useless political bantering on elitist blogs!
And about that "partisan thing"- Obama is way ahead because
he seems to realize that in the future the "Labelistas" will be totally lost. They hardly know right now how to categorize a Ron Paul or Huckabee and there will be more and more of these "Whatevers" who could only be judged by checking each of their policies individually.
Obama promises to end the war - to give us health insurance - to fight for the poor - that works for me and is so far away from an idiot like Bush that a comparison of "two amateurs"
is stupid beyond words. And doesn't evelybody also know that professional Politicians in America are totally lost.
They just don't get, that these are the times of unintended consequences, where the best way to fight an enemy is watching how he destroys himself.
I realize sometimes this might take too long - but it is a
very important learning process America has to go through.
In conclusion - it might be important to leave the Salon from time to time. Lets go to the kitchen looking for new recipes!

vote republican
[Read the article: Obama's double magic]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Obama gets nominated and not elected because of all the calculative, cynical and manipulative reasons the naysayers on this blog suggest it only proofs Americas education is not finished yet and this country will need another Republican president to come to its senses!

[Read the article: Obama's double magic]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]you all forgot the one drop rule means one drop of the blood of a white ancestor and you are "white not "black"!

what Joan Walsh meant to say
[Read the article: Update: Michelle Obama disagrees with me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I wrote Thursday about the former first couple's "win-at-any-cost tactics," and I would pay money to see a Michelle Obama-Bill Clinton debate. I also continue to think about the meaning of Obama's saying he's "not as invested"
in the "battles of the sixties," Clearly the Clintons have overstated some of their Obama critiques. Obama has
been overwhelmingly against the Iraq war from the beginning, despite what former President Clinton says. Obama took memorable early stands on behalf of veterans (he was one of the first to respond to Mark Benjamin's revelation that wounded vets were having to pay for their meals at Walter Reed, for instance.) Obama changes the trajectory of America in a way that Bill Clinton never did. He puts us on a fundamentally different path. With all the excesses of the last forty years. Government has grown and grown but there isn't much sense of accountability in terms of how it is operating. I think Obama just tapped into what people were already feeling - they want clarity they want optimism a return to that sense of dynamism and entrepreneurship that had been missing. There's maybe a generational element to this,
because he didn't come of age in the battles of the sixties, He is not as invested in them. So I think he talks differently about issues ... and values. And that's why he is resonating with the American people. The average Baby Boomer has moved beyond a lot of the arguments of the sixties. Some stupid politicians and pundits keep on fighting these "battles" without realizing that you already have loose if you adopt
the suicidal strategy of the so called GOP war machine.
See how easy it is - without the useless "he said- she said"-
a little editing and a conclusion the editor finally makes sense.

please don't self destruct
[Read the article: Update: Michelle Obama disagrees with me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Whatever details you are discussing -
Whatever little fights you are fighting on this blog -
Don't forget what happened to the Clinton Presidency - It self destructed!
To the Bush Presidency? - It self destructed!
To the incredible GOP war machine? - It self destructed!
So perhaps Obama might have a point, to get out of suicidal politics. Aren't we all positive and optimistic human beeings?

[Read the article: Update: Michelle Obama disagrees with me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]and - And for the record I also would really appreciate Joan Walsh to comment on this thread of letters. If you are going to ask us what we think about your comments then I hope you will be strong, and humble enough to read them and respond.

dear trasher
[Read the article: Update: Michelle Obama disagrees with me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]its a lot of "black and white" you present.
You should start promoting that the "one drop rule" means that one drop of the blood of a white person makes a person white and that's why we all support Obama.

return to trasher

[Read more letters about this article: Here]if one President says "If I talk about war, I talk about peace
