America was built by small towns, and small towns are the backbone of this Country. Personally being from a small town I take offence to the remarks Obama made. It's becoming ever apparent that Obama is nothing more than another slick talking politician who will say anything to get elected, and has to put a muzzle on his own wife for fear she will say something else stupid. Yes, us small towns folks have guns, and yes we have religion, and we can also can vote, Mr.Obama. The reason we have guns is because of people like him, and we have religion because the rules of religion made for a wonderful community. Sorry, but that's my comments about the remark.
Good article. Hillary and Bill will say anything to get back in the white house. They will use whatever tactics to get the black voters. What amazes me is Obama is a man running for President, and it shouldn't matter whether he is black or white, or both, yet the press and Hillary in her own subtle way are making it a race issue. Obama should be judged by what he can bring to the Country. The real question is does he have the experience, and the background to run the Country. The past record should be the judge as to whether he or Hillary will make a good comander in chief. Obama has Rev. Wright hanging in his closet, and Hillary has to many lies to mention hanging in hers. It would appear the Republicans are going to laugh all the way to the bank.
Mr. Lind you make some very good points, and isn't freedom of speech a wonderful thing. I thought I was middle class until I heard Hillary say $200,000 was middle class, ha. Americans need social security, medicaid, and unemployment. Government was established by the people, for the people, and it seems sometimes our Government officials forget why they're there. As for those rich conservatives who want to eliminate everthing, yes they are stupid. How easy it is to pass judgement when you have millions of dollars. Funny part is no one wants to take their money away, so why are they so intense on wanting to take away from those who need. Those who need are the backbone of this Country, they do the jobs no one else wants, they do the dirty work, without these people we'd be in trouble. It's hard to get hurt on the job when you sit in a penthouse looking at a computer. Try drilling for oil, or catching the lobsters and crabs these rich eat. The homes they live in were built from materials these so called poor people labored and toiled to produce. The cars they drive, the furniture they sit on, the food they eat. Shame on those who want to eliminate services a lot of people need just to survive. As record I am not a liberal nor a conservative. I am a person that believes in his Country, family, God, freedom of speech, strong military, right to bear arms, even abortion, and if gays want to marry then Government stay out and let them marry. America is still the land of the free, and home of the brave. Every tax dollar this Country gets should be spent on America. As far as McCain and Obama, Americans should vote for whoever they think is going to do the best job at maintaining our freedon and rights.
Well, Mr. Obama has a name that sounds Muslim, and he has many relatives that are Muslim, and he was once a muslin, and the internet protrays him as a Muslin, so it's going to be hard to shake the tag. May be he should change his name to John Smith.
She said what she said, and she meant what she said. Yes, this is a free Country and you can say what you want, so at least stand up for what you said. And, yes, the press continually wants to protray her statement as being miscontrued, and turn the blame on everyone else. I suppose it's Cindy McCains fault Ms. Obama attended Rev. Wrights church and listened to his racial spewing remarks every Sunday. Get real, the press loves publishing crap.
What could Obama possibly know about anything in the middle east, and specifically Pakistan, other than what his speech writers potray. 911 was a result of the Clinton administration, and if I remember right the Clintons and their supporters all though Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Amazing how time erases facts.
I hate to throw a wrench in your article, but I hardly doulbt Obama will get any Jewish votes. Why, first, he does have ties to Muslims in his past, second, he was or did attend a muslim school, and third his name certainly sounds muslim. Jewish people know unlike a lot of other Americans that have forgotten 911,that the Muslim extremists are dangerous, and will stop at nothing to exterminate the state of Isreal, and America. So in other words the Jewish people will take no chances when it comes to Obama, no matter how much the press trys to help Obama.
Neither will I, I'm not Jewish, but because I would never attend a church that preaches hate towards my Country or other skin colors, then deny it, and then say I did. His gift for words sounds good, but have no substance.
