It's Simple Really,

You can be a prick and win a Pulitzer by doing a good job of asking important questions and hold the public's interest first AND potentially damage all the good secret stuff type of operations that are there to keep us safe, Illegal or not. OR you can buy yourself some nice comfy kneepads that will turn to gold if you service your master well by becoming part of their propaganda and not sweat the little stuff that might offend their plans, excuse me their integrity.Remember it's a sausage factory and the citizens just really DON'T want to know. At least Monica Goodling was outed as a stooge on the government payroll. I want to know who were the 3 sources for Brian Ross' anthrax story?

She's got Bush down...

Beltway nonsense speak? Do you mean nuanced to the nth degree State Department kind of language? Or are questioning her going forward with the Kristolesque presumption that Iran will inevitably destroy or attempt to destroy Israel? I think congruent with President Bush she offers the public exactly what they, her constituency 50% of the voters, wants to hear. Bad guys get whacked by anybody that's available. Details confuse the public and I think she breaks it down to the common GOP supporter fairly well. The most delicate matters are treated in the most brusque fashion by this administration. A simple answer keeps the simple happy does it not? We have lowered or standards of expectations because of this President and that's why Obama is so refreshing intellectually and at the same time frightening because the other half doesn't mind cowboy style simplicity and seems not to bother with this constantly reinforced reality.

What has the Pro life movement received for their votes?

I think the most astonishing case of denial is the idea that after having Bill Frist, Tom Delay and W all at the helm of all 3 branches of government for a historically significant period of time NOTHING was done to make abortion illegal. You would think that such a significant factor in supporting a party would have been delivered in some way to reward the pro life constituencies loyalty. I guess that's the true conservative way, just wish it would happen and blame the Left for keeping the dream out of reach and then absolutely ignore their own collective failure at ACTUALLY providing real policy to address these crucial and important values that they fantasize about. Conservatism the greatest ruse Ever.

Man, what a thin skinned Prick

His arrogance is absolutely flawless. Lick his ass and man he's your pal but dare question him and he shoves his Pulitzer in your face like it's the Pope's ring. My concern is that because the market's responded so well after one bad day now the GOP will stall more and go back to load up for more goodies. Glenn your interview with Mr.Johnston was remarkable. the connections to AIG that Goldman Sachs has and Mr. Paulson's connections to Goldman are glaringingly vulgar.

The problem for me is the White House Press briefings...

I watched Sarah Palin highlights the other day and all of a sudden it hit me. She reminds me to the T of Dana Perino. The same kind of obfuscation, sell the party line spew and Never, Never, answer the goddamn questions. This administrations has used the WH press briefings to ignore the press and turn it into a PR event. Sarah Plain is nothing more than a PR stooge. Wonder how many David Addingtons and Scooter Libbys will be working for her if they win. That's something to consider and frankly, as Eric Cantor would say, frankly, it scares the hell out of me.

Were National Security Letters used in this investigation?

Well? I'm sure they've been used in drug convictions.

Glenn you are trying to apply logic...

To an illogical situation. This is really the empire's new clothing line if you will. Pointing out bald face lies, consistent hypocritical posturing and perception steering tactics will only flatten the side of my head and crater the sheet rock in my house more severely. The Right's desperately delusional attempt to promote their charade of competence, and least common denominator feel good attributes about themselves as positive pabulum to their tribal constituencies while ignoring reality, is all they have left. The fact that it is a choice that people prefer can only speak volumes for the need to subsidize mental health care to the nth degree because frankly these people are FUCKED UP.

Negate the declaration of War First.

I would argue that the Right would see the closing of Guantanamo and shutting down Military Commissions as empowering our enemies. Subsequently the President, because we are still at war, could be determined to be derelict in his duties to up hold the constitution by putting us in danger by doing so.

Laura Ingraham was hyper ventilating from the get go today...

About the possibility that Jamie Gorelick was on the short list for the AG job. I can't wait for that position to be filled. That's when I'll decide if hope is just another 4 letter word....

Check the Poynter Institute's Web Page...

I wrote an e-mail back in April to Bob Steele to ask him if he had read Glenn's page at Salon. He replied that he had read a few pieces and would read more. I'd like to hear from The Poynter Institute as well as Jay Rosen on the McCaffrey situation.
