Another good HBO show gone

I have learned to live without the women of Sex and the City along the freaks from Carnivale, the cowboys of Deadwood, and the hot men in Ox. It will me awhile, but I am sure I will adjust to no more Tony and the gang, too.

Original article: I Like to Watch

You have some of it right!

While I don't watch a lot of television, I did watch the Sopranos and personally found this last season to be lacking! I was surprised it received any nominations, to be honest. And what about The Closer? It is the best drama on the tube today. There is not a bad actor in the bunch. (Is it wrong that I think J.K. Simmons is hot?)

About 2.5 Men ... it IS funny, but not in a smart and witty way; rather it is funny in a crude sort of way that you laugh your ass off, but you don't tell your friends you watch it.

John From Cincinnati? I tried to watch that first episode, but ... it was just wrong on too many levels to count. I kept asking myself: HBO cancels a show like Carnivale that made you think (in a good way) but put crap like this on instead! Makes a girl want to cancel her HBO!

Hate to break it to you but ...

some of us haven't stopped hating Reagan and all the terrible policies he created. For what it is worth, I find little difference Reagan and his Iran-Contra BS and Bush II and his Iraq BS.

A nice article ...

It is always good to read about celebrity couples who are genuinely nice as Trisha and Garth seem to be. Unlike two celebrity couples who shall remain nameless, you don't see pictures of Garth and Trisha with his kids at sporting events or walking down the streets of yet another foreign city. I have loved Trisha's voice since the first time I heard it; same with Garth, but not as much. Don Henley was right about Trisha ... her voice moves people in the same way Linda Ronstadt's does.

And for all the complainers: I would much rather read happy articles these days instead of more Hillary v. Obama! Ralph Nader is looking better by the day!

The big loser here is the DNC

I have to say that if I were a voter in Florida or Michigan, I would sue the DNC so fast it would make their heads spin. The proceedings yesterday were so biased against Mrs. Clinton that I could not believe it. And while it has been repeated numerous times already here I will say it again: were the Clinton / Obama positions reversed, these same people would have voted in favor of the elections counting 100%.

The Democratic Party effectively gave the nomination to Obama yesterday, and at the same time gave the general election to John McCain. I am so sick of party politics and bi-partisan politics that I could cry in frustration. What the Democratic Party needs is a major shake-up and new people put in place to make decisions that are neither race nor gender driven. What happened yesterday made me sorry for the voters in Florida and Michigan and worse, made me ashamed, for the first time in the 33 years I have been a registered voter, to be associated with the Democratic Party.

Original article: Show the games live

NBC need only blame itself...

...when their ratings are in the toilet. It is too easy to find direct feeds on the 'net. I have argued the same thing about taped tennis. Who the heck wants to watch sports on tape when you already know who wins?

My problem is that I do feel guilty to even be watching it. I thought we should boycott going to China. I tend to go back and forth between the human rights of those in China vs. the rights of American athletes to participate. At the very least, George Bush should have stayed home and made a point about China's problems.

Original article: Paul Newman dead

So sad!

I absolutely adored Paul Newman. Even when I was a kid, I thought there was something special about him. Then as an adult, I knew there was -- he was an actor with a stable marriage to a great woman, a good family, and he gave away chunks of his money to actual charitable causes. While many of the younger generation will only remember him for his salad dressings or cookies, many of us "older" chicks will remember him for his sexiness in "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" and "Cool Hand Luke" or as Fast Eddie! I will miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family ...

i was the other woman

I can tell you exactly why he was attracted to someone like me ... I allowed him to live out all his fantasies. There was absolutely nothing real about our online relationship. I always knew his real life came first and he knew the same about me. I will tell you this, when you found out about me and made his choose he picked you and dumped me very quickly. I feel a tremendous amount of guilt about causing you so much unhappiness and I am sorry.
