tired just reading that letter

I am sure all of this recovery stuff is legit and I know you are probably workign really hard at getting this all to work out. But god, it's exhausting jsut listening to all this stuff. Thre was a psoter who said you are using jargon. You are. And so much that it's clear you aren't talking or thinking normally anymore.

Cary was saying a vacation from being a patient. Therapy is great and so are the 12 steps and all the rest but for god's sake, just give it all a rest. Sleep. Read novels. eat good food. and let it all go. Just relax.

Original article: Get Rielle

Get Rielle? WTF?

First of all who is this jouvenal person? Is that supposed to be a cute little pun? The article was indeed juvenile. It had no new information in it at all--- the background research consisted of using google. It's like being in 5th grade and copying out of the encyclopedia.

Secondly, why "Get Rielle?" It doesn't get rielle. Did they mean that in the sense of she is worthy for attack? As in let's all get her? Or did they mean it in the sense of "get THIS chick!" as in she is too ridiculous to be believed. Either way, the article doesn't live up to its title.

I think this woman should be targeted by the media (tabloid or otherwise) because she makes no bones about the fact that she decided she was going to get herself a rich and pwoerfufl man, she was going to "manifest" it in her life, and then she did just that. John Edwards was an idiot and no one has said anything about whether she's jsut the latest flavor of the month or not, but the point is, she is a grown (if stupid) woman who should be held accountable for her tacky behavior.

The true tragedy is that she's brought a child into all of this, permanently affecting the lives of John Edwards' family forever and certainly, creating a mess for that poor kid.

So go ahead---get Rielle. But do it well for god's sake. School is about to start and the fifth graders will be in short supply.

you deserve each other

Two selfish people found each other. Planning to have kids? That'll teach you.

I feel sorry for the only true victims here, your parents.

You seem to feel they OWE you something? Grow up, babe. You are healthy, well educated and beginning a career in a profession that will allow you to pay the medical school debts relatively painlessly. What more do you want?

If I were you, I would be concerned about helpin my parents out. It cannot be easy living on their fixed incomes, with greedy selfish little santora (plural Cary!) demanding additional money from them.

You ought to be ashamed.

Cary's wrong

He's right in saying people leave alcoholics all the time, but it's not true that your husband's life will get lonelier or that he'll find himself unwelcome at the golf course, or whatever. Those places make their livings dealing with "regulars" who get totally bombed every time they come in. I used to be a waitress in fine dining, and unless they caused damages they couldn't pay for, they will always be welcome customers. It is never true that they aren't worth it. That is the business, so it's always worth it. i doubt many places could stay in business with Cary's standards. America is, sadly, full of drunks.

However, the thing you have to deal with is that it is ruining your family in about 1000 different ways. My father was an alcoholic who eventually died of cirrhosis of the liver. On top of being a humilation waiting to happen (he loved to cause scenes in public), he was narcissistic and violent. It was awful. My siblings and I have no relationship. It was always every man for himself and we each just hoped to survive to age 18 when we could escape. We were so concerned with our own survival, we never even noticed each other. My mother didn't begin to live her life till she was in her 70's when he finally died and left her to enjoy her life in peace.

You only live once. Why make it a life of suffering? Credit card bills and all the rest are small issues compared to living with an alcoholic who doesn't think he has a problem. Save your family. Save what you have.

Just as an aside, there are alot of pictures of George Bush in Beijing having gotten embarrassingly drunk. Google Bush drunk in Beijing and you'll find them. Take a look at the ones where his daughter is looking at him with total disgust. She would clearly like to crawl through a hole to get away from this humiliation.

Is that really the way you want the rest of your life to be?
