You can be desperate and still hate Hillary

Anonymous said:

Some of us do not care who her husband schtupps in his spare time, or how she deals with it. Some of us also accept a certain amount of corporate association and compromise in politics. Some of us associate Bill Clinton with peace and prosperity, and we would like to have a taste of that again if at all possible. The Clintons seem to come as a package deal, so if we can't elect him, we'll elect her. In other words, many of those supporting Hilary Clinton right now are liberals who need workable solutions, not lofty ideals or moral perfection.

Anonymous, ask yourself this. Do you truly think that Hilary's latest health care plan, or any of her proposals really, will help you in an hour of need? In terms of her new health care plan, ALL that she is doing is requiring everyone to buy health insurance from an insurance company. Sometimes that will be moderately subsidized by the federal government, but will it save you money? Not as much as it will make insurance companies a hell of alot richer. They are finally going to get young healthy people paying into the coffers, something they have been furious about for years. She just accepted a half million dollars from health insurance companies---do you really think she is going to care about whether or not people in Smalltown USA fare well?

Do you honestly think Hilary is for peace? If her senate voting record is any indication, I think we can see that's a no. She has accepted tons of money from the M-I complex too; do you think she's in denial about their expectations for quid pro quo?

If you took Bill Clinton out of the equation, I would be willing to bet the vast majority of support that Hillary gets would evaporate. ALOT of people think it is better to get Clinton indirectly by electing Hilary than it is to not have him at all. I suspect Hilary knows that too---and so she may not care who he schtupps either, as long as he puts on a good front and tells people she is the best candidate out there. But remind yourself that Clinton was and is vulnerbale enough to create situations that subsequently allow poeple like George Bush to win. No one loved Bill more than I did, but being a political animal didn't save us all the last time and it won't a second watered-down time around either.

The problem of course is that these candidates all KNOW what we want to hear, and they give voice to it. But it's all lies. If you read "Dead Certain" the new Draper biography of Bush, you see that before the 2000 election, Bush talked about the role of the US in the world as not being nation-building and that just because we do things our way doesn't mean the rest of the world has to do it that way too..... He was lying through his teeth, and we have come to expect that dishonesty in all presidents. Ultimately, the only thing you CAN do is to vote for someone you believe is ethical and strong and good. Gore does that for me. John Edwards is looking better and better. Barack Obama strikes me as being an opportunist just like Hilary and I am not seeing a whole lot of difference between the two of them.

Hey Anonymous. Hang in there. We're all in this for the long haul, and you are so not alone..... I just wouldn't pin my hopes for solutions to my problems on any man, (or woman) either one you marry or elect. In the end, you've only got yourself.
