Don't panic yet

Wait until after Halloween, then freak-out and try to figure out how to get all those bitter Hillary Democrats to support Obama.

Original article: Quote of the day

Keep wanking on this topic, Alex

It leads nowhere too

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 08:51 AM

Maybe people would care more about Palin's lies

if the progressive blogosphere had called Obama out for all of his.

Original article: Making a mockery of 9/11

Say Salon-g to journalistic integrity

After Kamiya and Traister, this post is not surprise.

But it is disappointing.

Salon used to be a class act.

Sunday, September 14, 2008 06:16 PM

Quit blaming racism

for Obama's deficiencies.

The problem is the candidate, not the voters.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 02:11 AM
Original article: Sarah Palin's wasteful ways

Salon used to be a news magazine

instead of being just an Obama 527.

Kool-aid causes brain damage

Saturday, September 20, 2008 05:39 AM

US attorneys were supposed to avoid politics-related prosecutions

just before an election, to avoid the appearance of trying to affect the vote.

Even though the Bush administration abandoned that policy, it is still a good idea.

"Troopergate" wasn't a priority until Palin was nominated, now all of a sudden they want to rush to judgment before the election. Why?

There is no reason for the state of Alaska to be in a hurry on this. Either Palin will be there to investigate after November 5th, or she'll be leaving and the issue will be moot.

The fact that her opponents claim a "need to know" is no reason for Alaska to be in a hurry.

Friday, October 10, 2008 11:32 AM

Is "a man of the street" the best you've got?

How about some actual racial epithets? Something we don't need a decoder ring to recognize as racist?

Friday, November 7, 2008 04:37 PM
Original article: "The woman's not stupid"

This thread reminds me of the rationalization for calling Hillary a bitch

"But she IS a bitch."

Friday, November 21, 2008 04:08 AM

I never stopped being a liberal

Now that Obamanation has trashed the progressive label, they can keep it.

Too bad we can't get them to stop calling themselves Democrats.

Sunday, November 23, 2008 06:35 AM

Many progressives supported Obama because he wasn't Hillary

Now the HillaryHaters are shocked and awed by reality.

Monday, November 24, 2008 03:07 AM

Progressives aren't panicking

They're too busy watching their heads explode.

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 06:24 AM

RE: "Fortunately, we are about to get a president who has a brain and is not afraid to use it."

Can you back that assertion up with evidence?

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 11:27 AM

Get thee under the bus!

You have become a liabilty to The Lightbringer, so he wants you gone.

It reminds me of what G-Dub said when Ken "Kenny-boy" Lay was arrested:

"Ken who?"

Thursday, December 11, 2008 09:10 PM

Joan: What flavor is the Kool-aid this week?

When they were investigating Rezko the Chicago news said he was connected to Blago and Obama.

They convicted Rezko, now they have arrested Blago.

But Obama is doing just fine.

Thursday, December 18, 2008 08:19 PM

So Joe, did you get pom-poms and a short skirt from Obama?

Or did they give you hot pants instead?

Cheerleaders wear uniforms, right?

Original article: Disappointed by Rick Warren

Why did Salon care about a freshman Senator's visit to Saddleback Mountain in 2006?

"I tried to keep an open mind when Obama began courting Warren three years ago; Salon sent a reporter to cover the popular young Democrat's first visit to Saddleback Community Church, to talk about its laudable AIDS work, in 2006."

C'mon Joan, tell us more! Why did Salon give a f*ck what Obama was doing back then??

Monday, February 9, 2009 08:51 PM

Re: "I almost teared up."

Funny you should say that. I just did a post the other day at The Confluence documenting astroturfed reactions to Obama's "Greatest Speech on Race EVAH" last year and how two different commenters just a few minutes apart claimed to have been moved to tears just reading a transcript of the speech.

Don't you guys ever use any original stuff?

Monday, February 9, 2009 09:09 PM
Original article: Obama's Reagan problem

Oh yeah? Sez who?

Barack Obama is constitutionally inclined to be a conciliator and a difference-splitter. As a legislator in Illinois, he was noted for his ability to get different parties to come together.

Can you provide an example or are you just repeating Axelrod's talking points?

Monday, February 16, 2009 12:20 AM

Reefer Madness

is bad policy.

It should be legalized (for adults) and taxed.

Move over Sully

Alex wants to get his PDS on.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009 11:33 AM

Is this a liberal blog or Freeperville?

When did misogyny become a liberal value?

Wednesday, March 25, 2009 04:06 AM

Hey Mike! What flavor is the Kool-aid?

Do you write your own articles or does Axelrod fax them to you?

Wednesday, April 29, 2009 02:01 PM

How can Sarah "go away" if you won't leave her alone

C'mon Alex, admit it. You just want another chance to sniff her panties.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009 04:59 AM

I thought we were supposed to be the good guys?

Being a liberal should mean more than the names of the people we hate.

I want to be better than them, not just like them. We're supposed to have principles and morals.

I don't care about Limbaugh, but we should be setting an example, not following his.

"All the legal rights that are conferred by the state"

includes marriage

Tuesday, May 19, 2009 09:10 AM
Original article: A Palin-Clinton alliance?

A Palin "advisor" had a hare-brained idea

Sarah rejected the idea.

Why is this news?

Monday, June 8, 2009 07:39 PM

Too bad Obama didn't get this kind of scrutiny

Better late than never, right Joan?

Tuesday, June 23, 2009 06:54 AM

@ Brightstar

What did Rihanna do, hit him in the fists with her face?

You really need to buy a clue.

Thursday, July 30, 2009 07:43 AM

Does Obama even HAVE an agenda?

Other than helping the rich get richer that is.

Wake up and smell the arugula Joan - Obama is Bush III

The Democrats have supermajorities in both houses, and you're blaming the Republicans . . . why?

Monday, August 3, 2009 08:11 AM

Nobody would pay those bloviating gasbags to act like fools

unless acting like fools was what they wanted them to do.

But if the right wing controls editorial content at MSNBC then why has it been the Obama Network?

Why weren't they supporting McCain? Why were they bashing Sarah Palin?

Friday, August 14, 2009 05:24 PM

As she matures . .

"As she matures, she’ll likely be able to hang on to her younger “Hannah Montana” fans while she vies for the attention of a new audience of masturbation enthusiasts."

As she matures, won't her Hannah Montana fans be getting older too?

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 01:08 PM

Why does everyone assume that Obama wants genuine health care reform?

The health insurance industry and Big Pharma gave Obama a lot of money last year - more than anyone else - to make sure health care reform doesn't happen.

Follow the money.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 12:23 PM

Obama and the Democratic leadership DO NOT WANT TO REFORM HEALTH CARE

With the Democratic party, failure is a feature not a bug.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 10:26 PM
Original article: When liberals fight back

Look in a mirror Joan!

"so many lefty bloggers and activists anointed Obama the progressive choice ignoring his legislative bona fides"

Look in a mirror Joan - you're talking about yourself.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009 05:32 AM

Obama and the Democratic leadership DO NOT WANT TO REFORM HEALTH CARE

If they did they would not have taken single payer off the table before they started.

Wednesday, September 2, 2009 12:10 PM

Salon is now the National Enquirer

Tabloid trash - maybe for his next trick Koppelman can take over the Jerry Springer Show.

Wednesday, September 2, 2009 12:13 PM

Two cults of personality

Both creepy and wrong.

Thursday, September 3, 2009 11:55 PM

When did misogyny become a progressive value?

Reading these comments is like wading through a sexist sewer.

Friday, September 4, 2009 10:19 PM
Original article: A party is not a movement

No sh*t Dave?

Where were you last year when the Party Unity My Ass people were saying that?

Friday, September 4, 2009 10:39 PM
Original article: A party is not a movement

Do you remember this post Dave?

I'm very proud of the reporting I did during the campaign, and of the work I'm doing with the team at OpenLeft. We don't carry water for individual politicians - we're honest and straightforward about trying to do our part to build a movement. And that means there's going to be praise and criticism - all at the same time. That doesn't make us the hypocrites in American politics - not even close. Indeed, the real hypocrites are those who insist they care about the future of this country, but either disengage or actively work to undermine a president because their favored candidate didn't win.

Heckuva job, Dave!

Tuesday, September 8, 2009 10:21 AM

It was just a speech, Joan

Congress won't be chanting "Fired up, ready to go!" tomorrow night.

Get a grip and focus. You're just having a Kool-aid flashback.
