@ John Anderson
[Read the article: Obama's borrowed words]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So it is your position that plagarism does not exist in political speechmaking?
Interesting idea, but I hope it never catches on among the general public.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't have an idol running in this election.
Personal attacks are not a cogent argument.
You can have the last word because I'm not staying here all night. But that still won't make you right.

@ SocsandTwigs
[Read the article: Obama's borrowed words]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Plagarism? "I'll be fine" is plagarism?
ROFL
Your satire is too subtle for me. I thought you were serious.
Comedy gold! Even Stephen Colbert would be jealous.

Change you can Xerox
[Read the article: A few debate thoughts]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joan, considering that you have already defended Obama's plagarism you lack credibility on this issue.
If I were advising Hillary I would tell her she should not withdraw at all.
She could stop campaigning and spending money if she loses the remaining primaries, but unless she is blown out completely (unlikely at this point) she would arrive at the convention in August with neither candidate having enough pledged delegates to win.
Between now and August, the superdelegates could decide to back Obama, thus giving him the nomination. If that happens, Hillary should gracefully concede.
But as the media and the American people take a closer look at Obama, his current popularity could fall dramatically, and the superdelegates could then choose her as the nominee.
The McCain sex scandal is an example of what could happen to any candidate with skeletons in their closet. So why the rush to pick a nominee?
If Obama is the best candidate and has no skeletons in his closet, that will still be the case in August.
The election isn't until November, let's take our time and get it right.

@ljwalker53
[Read the article: A few debate thoughts]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Immediately after the debates (all debates) the talking heads proclaim who "won" and what the key moments were. Most of these "experts" have a predetermined conclusion to push. Obama supporters will proclaim that he won overwhelmingly, Hillary supporters will say the opposite.
Voters who watch often disagree with the "experts," and make up their own minds.
Unfortunately, too many people only see the news reports and when so-called journalists "spin" the debate the voters are cheated.
I'd like to see more reporting and less commentary by the media. I don't need someone to explain to me what I saw with my own eyes.

She should not quit until the delegate votes are cast
[Read the article: Should Hillary Clinton drop out?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It is highly unlikely that either candidate will finish the primaries with enough pledged delegates to win the nomination.
That means the superdelegates will decide who the nominee is. But they don't vote until August. Even if they endorse Obama now, they still don't vote until August.
That's a long time from now. Just ask rebecalouise. The media and the American public is just starting to take a close look at Obama. His meteoric rise in the polls has leveled off and is beginning to drop. What goes up, must come down, usually just as fast as it went up.
Obama is a fad, and by mid-July he will be the political equivilent of the "Achy-Breaky Heart." Recovering Obamaniacs will be saying "What was I thinking?"
And Democrats everywhere will be grateful Hillary is still on the ticket.
BTW - By a 5-4 margin, Democrats prefer Hillary. It's "independents" and crossover Republicans that give Obama his lead. Shouldn't Democrats choose their own nominee?
-
@ anonymous sour grapes
[Read the article: Should Hillary Clinton drop out?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Do you really think the Republicans that are voting for Obama now will still vote for him in November?
BTW - calling a 47 year old grandfather "honey" shows your misogynist roots. Get to bed little boy, it's past your bedtime.
-
@ anonymous little boy
[Read the article: Should Hillary Clinton drop out?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I figured your question was rhetorical because you don't care about the answers anyway. But to anwer your question:
If people want to join the Democratic party, that's great. But letting Republicans choose our nominee for the general election is a dumbass idea. They aren't voting for Obama because they want him to be President, they are voting for him because he will be thew easiest to beat in Novemeber.
Like I said, do you really think they will still be voting for him then?
Don't bother answering, because what ever you say will be a lie. You are obviously a GOP troll who spends his time here when he should be study for a community college class in the morning. You're a spoiled child and are letting your parents support you and/or living off government grants and loans. It's obvious because your attitudes and comments reflect a lack of real world experience or social skills.
This is the second time I've been here and both times you are camped out here pretending to be an Obama supporter but acting so obnoxious you are costing him votes.
You're even too lazy to keep creating new aliases so you post "anonymously" but you gave yourself away with the "honey" comment. You called me that last time too.
Here's some advice: Get a girlfriend (non-inflatable) and a life.

You are NOT a girl.
No way dude. That kind of stupid requires a penis.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Let me give you a hint fella: The "Wellesley" thing was a dead giveaway.
It's right-wing meme straight from Doughy Pantload.
I can smell the Cheetos on your breath as you type.
You claim (now) to be a young female who mistakenly thought I was female. You're telling the truth about being mistaken but not about your gender.
Young females don't call strangers (either gender) "honey."
The way you used it tells me you are a guy who was trying to use a misogynist putdown on a woman.
You also screwed up trying to deny being the same "anonymous" I encountered before, because your "Wellesley" riff referred to stuff I didn't say today.
You really need to work on your game. Salon is first class, and third rate trolls have no business here.
