Speaking as someone with a daughter...

The educational system favors girls. Much as Spone pointed out, people favor other people like themselves, and nearly all teachers are women. There are a number of girls only enrichment programs in our school district, there is take your daughter to work day, and then there is the fundamental structure of school that forces subservient sitting in a desk instead of active movement that favors girls over boys. Girls outnumber boys 1.5 to 1 in Universities.

The one area where boys excel is in hard science/engineering, where cold analytical thought trumps emotive feeling and intuitive decision making. This is the one area left that women have yet to create a system that promotes women over men.

And yes, I am encouraging my daughter to be a doctor, not an engineer. The majority of people in medical school are women, and doctors make more money.

More fact than myth

Pumping is a good way for a woman to avoid the direct act of breast feeding, but I have never seen a study or read an opinion piece that says that it is better than natural breast feeding. You are putting a machine in between the mother and the child. I'm willing to bet that the baby will prefer a warm breast to a bottle.

We men may want to think that we can do as good a job as our wives, but at best we can only approximate the job they do.

Let's Stop Pretending that Bias towards Women is any Less Sexist than Bias Towards Men

When you make gender a determining factor in hiring decisions, you are a sexist. Favoring women doesn't make you immune from sexism. I'm talking to you TomRichford: "I'd rather work with a woman... because ... women do a better job cooperating in a team."

The teaching of actual skills doesn't serve the political agenda of the school boards

While our educational system is training every rube to be a socially conscience agent of change, we are forgetting to train our people to do actual work. New York public schools are now experimenting with socially aware math (not a typo, socially aware "math"). The local district in my town, which long ago got rid of shop class, is inserting "social justice" lessons into every conceivable nook and cranny, including Geography and History (herstory?). While it may be useful for the ruling class to learn this stuff (and they don't), the majority of Americans would be far better served by being taught a useful skill or two.

How we choose presidents

It is dumb enough that people choose their president based on who they would like to have a beer with. In the matriarchy are we supposed to choose our presidents based on who we want to date?

Newsflash to the Idiocracy: W doesn't drink, and Hillary is married.

Bad Judgement

Hillary is about a razor's width to the left of W, and it near total agreement with him on the war. Do you still get to call me a sexist pig for saying that she has bad judgement?

Andrew, you have made my day.

That is incredible, thank you!

Just another plant

You can try to write me off as just a plant, and you may even believe it. But you are, in fact, wrong. Hillary takes the "light" out of being a Bush-Light candidate. She is pro war, anti-medicinal marijuana, and pro lobbyist (remember "Lobbyists are people too"?). She is everything that we all dislike about W, and Salon is just another cog in the Fox News/Lobbyist/Pharma/Military-Industrial/Anti-Freedom regime that runs both parties.

Enough With the Pro-Hillary Bias Already! (Hillary and the six bully boys)

I've been reading Salon.com since the late 90's, back when it was smart. Premium subscriber for 6 years. Back then, Camille Paglia and Andrew Sullivan would write competing articles debating the nuance of an issue. Articles would compete to convince you to be pro/anti slavery reparations and the like. Now we have "Hillary and the six bully boys." Followed by the lightest of lightweight analysis of the debate, much of it pro-Hillary.

Are the audience members plants? Who cares, you (salon.com) are the plant.

And so, I bid you farewell. I'm going to spend my mid-morning break reading slate.com from here on out.

What a bunch of grumpy @assholes you are

If you think that kids burden the world so much, how do you justify your continuing to live? You were a child once too, should your parents have aborted you instead? If you think so, then off yourself, and stop burdening the environment.

Be a Hero Droogy

Kill yourself Droogy. The world has too many people already, and each one is a burden on the environment. We are over the "carrying capacity" of the planet, and you are just one too many people. Think about what a hero you would be if you killed yourself in an environmentally friendly way. Don't use bullets, they burn gunpowder which would only increase your carbon footprint. Use a rope or a knife.

The massive power of the "offended"

This is just another sad example of how much power has been granted to those who claim to be "offended." A hundred's of year old tradition is subservient not just to those offended, but the tradition is being put down because of there mere fear of offending. Are we ever going to overcome the PC patrol, or are we going to become a society of offended victims?
