Not at all ironic that this race baiting would come from the founder of BET, which is more than any single entity responsible for the culture of failure plaguing African Americans.
If a white organization spent as much time as BET does convincing black youth that their goals should be to become gangstas, pimps and ho's, they'd be properly denounced as the ultimate racists.
BET's blood money has been made by trying to convince black youth that they best they can hope for is to be a pimp, gangsta or ho.
The KKK would have considered it self wildly successful if it had been half as effective in destroying the black community.
"We've mentioned it as a mere bonus, but have not really considered that this is possibly the most revolutionary thing about it: The iPhone keeps getting better."
You've just figured that out?
1 "As Americans, we believe in the power of individuals to determine their destiny and shape the course of history."
2 "We believe that the most reliable guide for our country is the collective wisdom of ordinary citizens."
Which is it? Individuality or Collective Wisdom?
How is it that no one is outraged that a Florida's Republican legislature was able to disenfranchise all of the state's Democratic voters by pushing ahead the Democratic primary?
Seems a little manipulative to me, to put it mildly.
I'm trying to remember if McCain ever did the honorable thing and defend Kerry against the Swift-boaters?
I tend to think not, or if he did, it was under his breath.
Has anyone done a simple count of the number of times McCain has appeared a capella on Meet the Press over the past 2 years? (Particularly compared to other candidates.)
The show has come to look like it should be named "Sunday Morning with John McCain".
Steve said "in developers' hands in February".
The SDK has been in developers' hands for quite some time now. There will be apps announced on March 6... that means developers had the SDK.
He didn't say "in the hands of every hobby hacker in the country by February."
Both Nadir and Gonzalez are only interested in pointless 'statements', and uninterested in the hard work of organizing between their big-election time in the spotlight.
If you seriously think that Apple is going to give developers carte blanche to deploy apps that continue to suck battery life in the background while the user forgets that they're spinning away, you're absolutely nuts!
Yet again, the 'I want it all nowwwwwwww' footsie stompers want Apple to give them the capabilities of bringing the platform to a screeching halt.
Well done Apple. Keep it under control.
... it read 'former suicide bomber' instead of 'female suicide bomber'.
But come to think of it, both are accurate.
Obama's response was precisely what you asked of him (vis-a-vis Imus) What's your gripe?
He condemned Imus as divisive. He condemned Wright as divisive.
Imus was fired, Write was only informally connected to Obama's campaign, and you know that's ended. (He's also 'retired' from his church, to put it politely.)
I have no choice but to read your post as praise of Obama.
So Obama gave 26K to his church (how much did YOU give asshole?)
26k for good works, not 26k to his pastor.
You must be a right winger to be that stupid.
Broke or not, if you're a college student, PLEASE learn to use these things called paragraphs... it'll really help your grades.
"Ohio, Pennsylvania And Kentucky
Must be racist too."
Well, since you bring it up, it was Clinton's campaign (in the person of Carville) who described PA as "Pittsburg and Philly, separated by Alabama.", and we know exactly what he was saying.
And if you don't think southern Ohio and Kentucky are largely populated by bitter (yes, bitter) lower class whites who have been told that the reason for their lot in life is those 'others', rather than the corporate class, then you're very naive.
Obama addressed this precisely in his race speech. If he's allowed to keep presenting it in the context of the clear Republican alternative (the 3 G's) he'll do fine. But as long as he's getting sniped from 'friendly fire', then it will indeed be harder.
Another thing that's not being considered is that the recent Republican congressional coups (MS, LA and Haster's seat) show that there may very well be reverse coattails this year... local large turnout kicking the bums out and pushing support for the top of the ticket.
I'm feeling pretty confident now that re-unification will happen seeing how Hillary has backed off on her attempts to sabotage Obama.
yeah... but on the iPhone they actually work. :)
I agree with Stu about the horrible phrase 'brand' vis-a-vis the Republican melt-down.
'Brand' implies an advertising context of perception about cornflakes.
It implies a problem with how the public is perceiving a commodity as opposed to what is happening with the Republicans... exposure of a rotten and decayed core.
This isn't about remaking an image... its about the Republicans having tipped their hand, and (hopefully) the public having caught on.
Can someone explain just why Iowa gets this blessed position as first in the primary schedule?
I don't care how good Chet is... Voters will always think of the sullied Edwards.
Obama said "let me introduce the next p..."
"puh'... not 'president'.
Yup, the slip was headed that way but he did not say 'president'.
report it right.
Glad to see a guy who's brain is actually engaged and can stop slips before they come out.
The PUMAs will never admit that they're sinking Democratic hopes (and the country's) any more than the Nader voters will admit what they did.
The blindness of piety.
