I am so %$)(%ing fed up with Hillary
[Read the article: Douglas Schoen and Hillary's slimy pollsters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"It seems pretty clear that the only groups that could conceivably deny Clinton the nomination are anti-war groups, still angry about her vote ostensibly authorizing the President to go to war in Iraq."
"ostensibly authorizing the President to go to war in Iraq"
That is rich. Ostensibly? Is that "ostensibly" as in "OJ ostensibly killed Nicole"? Maybe Schoen wants to explain why exactly he doesn't think Hill-dog's vote was an authorization for the war. He could try to explain it to a soldier on his fourth tour, maybe. That would be pretty funny.
This woman is a chameleon. When it's politically popular to "kill the turrists" she's all for shootin' us some ragheads over in Eye-rack (read that in a cloying, fake Southern accent like the one she's fond of assuming). But as soon as the public realizes that we've been suckered into another Vietnam, she's Jane freaking Fonda. Spare me the bullshit story--or at least ADMIT YOU MADE A MISTAKE and move on. Her current position may play well to the soccer moms but it looks flip-floppy and politically opportunistic to independents. If this is the best the Dems can do, I'm going to have to start investigating the Green Party.

This is why they're paid to shut off their brains and kill
[Read the article: Charlie Savage at FDL Book Salon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"We're getting tired of sissies like you and Sidney Blumenthal discussing the military when neither of you spent a day in uniform."
Maybe Cpl. Grobengobenhoben could enlighten us sissies by telling us how many days George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Condoleeza Rice, and the countless right-wing shills who've been cheerleading this war from the heights of the "liberal media" have spent in uniform?

Disgusting
[Read the article: Waxman takes a shot at Blackwater]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I guess now we know how much a "haji"'s life is worth to the State Dept.: $15,000. And we wonder why the rest of the world resents us. What was it we said about al-Qaeda? They don't value human life the way we do? What does that mean, $20,000? $10,000?
In the immortal words of Bart Simpson, "the ironing is delicious."

Brightstar
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Take that, Jodie Foster, Nicole Kidman!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Wings of Desire has a female lead? Since when? Isn't the movie about an angel who falls in love with a woman? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Marion doesn't even show up until around halfway into the movie, after the angels spend an inordinate amount of time wandering around Berlin listening to people's thoughts and generally boring me and my girlfriend to tears. It was a beautiful movie but maybe my generation doesn't have the patience to really enjoy something as slow-paced as Wings of Desire.

[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's smooth-talk express]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Thank your lucky stars there is a Hillary. Thank your lucky stars she is doing whatever it takes to win. Pull the good ole boy crap from your ears and eyes that you haven't managed to scape off yet and try seeing her "polishing" as a good thing."
Yeah, I'm thanking my lucky stars that we have Hillary to push for war with Iran, expand "free trade" as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, commit troops to Iraq indefinitely, shill for Israel's extreme right-wing fanatics, duck and weave like a weasel in response to a straightforward question, and claim the presidency like it's her birthright. Cause it's not like we anyone else who does any of that stuff: like, for example, a sitting president, or someone...
Come on. You can wave around Hillary's two X chromosomes like a bloody shirt all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that many people have legitimate gripes with her policies and her campaign style. Dismissing them as misogynistic "ole boys" is pigheaded, blind, and foolish, because frankly, Hillary isn't going to win without changing a few minds, and the way to do that isn't to dodge criticism and debate like the Bush administration but to stand up and take responsibility for her policies and her votes, like, say, the ones authorizing war against Iraq, Iran, and whoever else the president she claims to hate so much wants to go to war with. Canned issues like this Beauregard crap are meaningless and scripted, and don't provide for genuine political dialogue. Accusing Scherer of misogynistic thought tendencies is just another smoke screen to avoid having to talk about the hard issues, like, would President Hillary Clinton go to war with Iran? How do you think most of the Democratic base would like her honest answer to that question?

[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's smooth-talk express]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I don't blame her for ignoring the press. Why let them get it wrong when she can talk to real people who can draw their own conclusions?"
I couldn't resist: who exactly do you mean by "real people"? People like "Kim Beauregard and her 16 year old daughter Ashley," who both work for the Clinton campaign? Or just people who won't ask her hard questions? Because we all know that people who ask Hillary hard questions are really plants from rival campaigns, not "real people"... Marriage
[Read the article: What you missed while watching the Red Sox win]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Straight marriage...Giuliani loves it so much that he did it three times!

Ugh
[Read the article: My boss says I'm a lesbian but I'm not!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is why I've switched to reading Dan Savage. Cary is boring and pretentious. I actually cringed when I read the line "So, basically, um, I'm a married heterosexual white man in my 50s who spent five years hiding under my desk at Chevron. So I dunno. That boss of yours should lay off." This is the kind of stuff you DELETE before you hit the "publish" or "send" or whatever button.

Paaaaaathetic.
[Read the article: State official resigns amid Blackwater woes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I guess this is supposed to console the families of the people Blackwater murdered in cold blood. I'm sure that hearing that he was forced to resign is almost as good as getting to see their loved ones again.

Wow
[Read the article: I peed at my desk in third grade and now I'm afraid to sing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't know which is more pathetic, the letter or the answer.
