Original article: Good times for liberals

I've discovered a new drug!

The new drug of choice is the sensation I get feeling the utterly grotesque amount of schadenfreude watching the Republican machine meltdown. And Mr. Krugman is one of my favorite sources for this wonderful new drug.

"Dare we say"? You bet!

I hate that "tipping point" business, but my latest theory is - like Bush's daddy's "read my lips" utterance - Bush and the Republicans are going to pay dearly for "compassionate conservatism"; especially after Bush's veto of the SCHIP legislation heading toward his desk. It's going to give Middle America the armature upon which to hang their exploding (subprime meltdown, among many other things, will provide the thrust) resentment. Boom!

Mrs. Olson?

Whatever happened to Mrs. Olson? I like her better.

Poor Johnny

Looks like the straight talk express is beginning to yaw a little as it heads down the yellow-brick road towards the land of Ingnominia. And Johnny, please remember not to beat a dead horse in public until it has returned from the taxidermist,OK? You're embarrassing Cindy.

"Find out what drugs you used"?

I wouldn't call that just the pot-calling-the-kettle-black, that's full-tilt pathological hypocrisy, Rushie baby. That, of course, is the number one salient trait of the wing-nut set.

Too little, too late?

Great little article by Kathleen Pender in The CraminerExonicle reasoning that this "fix" isn't really going to fix anything... Tsk.

Smiling through clenched teeth

(LoL) I just love the picture Salon is using for this article. Check out all three of their smiles. These are not happy smiles. They look as if they're tring way too hard. Tsk.

too closely...)."

Note: This link leads to an error. Delete the double quotes at the end of the URL Ms. Walsh provides and the link will work.

P.S. If Hillary Clinton votes for that FISA bill that includes retroactive immunity for telecoms, I will simply not vote for her. Like Dianne Feinstein, I will not give Republicans (stealth, or otherwise) my vote. Period.

He did!?

Bush wrecked conservatism? Are you sure? You're not pulling my leg, are you Gary? Oh My Gawd!!

Tsk.

Original article: Number of the Day

Whew!

Sadly, I think this has more to do with the American public than the lack of color in the Republican candidates. Remember, almost half of this country voted for Bush in the first place - and honey, just one look at THAT and I knew it wasn't a nice picture. There's really something deeply wrong with the American people; I just know in my heart Finland would never do this.

Litmus test

For me this is the last straw with the Dems. Anyone of them vote the "wrong way" on this FISA bill, and I just simply will not vote for them come election time. I'll just opt for the Peace and Freedom party, or something. Period.

P.S. Thanks for supplying (*meow*) the phone numbers. I plan to (*roar*) make some calls.

Growing Chinese oil consumtion:

Adds another dimension to the term "peaking oil". (heh, heh) Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Original article: The burning question

Mundane things can sumetimes really shock!

I haven't looked at a map of San Diego since I was in High School. And wow! After viewing all the maps made available by all the coverage lately, I had NO IDEA how large San Diego had grown. Another WOW! is necessary.

Nah, Mother Nature, whoever she may be, isn't exacting revenge; we're just living on real estate that should be left to the chaparral and the local four-legged critters, that's all.

Hey, brightstar65!

Man, I sure hope you don't have a daughter. Warm fuzzies or cold pricklies: I know exactly what kind of message you would be delivering to her. It's f**king sad.

Little dominos

islandtripper: Yes, but (heh, heh) information and knowlage are the "gateway drugs" to wisdom.

I hate Capitalism, but I like me drugs and I like my Google.

"Speaking at a Milken Institute"?

Oh, THAT is too good! If not poetic justice, poetic something.

Tuesday, October 30, 2007 02:29 PM
Original article: Hypocrite much?

Hypocrisy? The Bush Administration?

Oh, tut-tut. The target audience, either doesn't care, or is too stupid to know what it is - and The Bush Administration is too stupid to realize, or just don't care, that the target audience has disappeared.

Wednesday, October 31, 2007 06:02 AM

I'm sure I speak for many here...

But, this FISA w/ the retroactive immunity thing will be the litmus test for me whether or not I vote for the next Democratic national candidate. Punto.

Original article: Cheney in the bubble

Bubble?

I call it a massive vacuum. Cheney is the scariest VP ever in my estimation. And I sadly predict that he's going to get his war with Iran. This is really terrifying stuff! Right out of Dr. Strangelove.

Monday, November 5, 2007 06:52 AM

Conservative thought (if one can call it that)...

... Is a vast network of vacuum tubes. When smashed or broken, vacuum tubes do what the Republican party is now doing: implode.

Monday, November 5, 2007 02:25 PM

"So why not start today?": you ask?

Well, if sleeping takes up a third of your life, and... (let's see, how much is the average American's boob-tube consumtion, anyway?) ...Well, sit down with your calculator and add it up.

Hm, that leaves enough time for maybe a quick yank, a chomp and maybe a crap (no wiping - not enough time), if your lucky.

This would be a great opportunity to kill your boob-tube, whatever variety you have.

Original article: Bamboo shoots and trees

What about hemp?

I would think hemp to be the wiser choice than bamboo over wood.

"And why we are all doomed to messy disappointment."

Whoa! Someone forgot to take their happy pill this morning.

Original article: Give Newt a chance

Capitalism + good intentions = 0

Not necessarily a reflection on Gingrich, John and Teresa Heinz Kerry recently came out with a book called 'This Moment on Earth'. It's great that influential people are sounding the environmental alarm, but in the Kerry's instance, we're talking about people with five personal residences, not to mention the carbon footprint every one of their stocks has. As far as I'm concerned, their message may ring true, but delivered by them it rings hollow.

Capitalism is killing the environment. To riff on something Bill Clinton once said: "it's the economy, stupid".
