Hey, welcome back!

Even if Obama gets everything he wants, including the kitchen sink to throw at this mighty meltdown, I don't think its going to do anymore than make us all go thud instead of splat. I think we're going to experience much unprettiness next couple of years, or so.

P.S. Here's a cute little linky for all to enjoy:

Whatever happened to exercise?

Reading articles like these make me count my blessings and realize we Americans have one big sick trip with food.

I'm in my mid-fifties, weigh the same as I did thirty years ago. I make sure to eat my fruits and veggies, 'cause I love 'em... And eat and drink anything and everything I want to what ever degree of satiation stops me from going any further. Otherwise, I've never had to give the business of eating another thought.

I also walk at least 10 miles a day, and my doctor tells me I'm in beaming health.

Now, if I could give up my two pack a day cigarette habit.

When it comes down to brass tacks...

The problem is that Whitney Hoffman's name is not Caroline Kennedy.

Lest anyone be under any illusions, Lincoln was sadly mistaken. It's "of the rich, by the rich, for the rich".

Original article: What mandate for change?

Well, sadly...

It's because most Democrats are that in name only.

"It could have been worse"?

Ummmm, I guess we shall see, no? Well, Robert Reich is already referring to this "thing" as a mini-depression and Gary Beck and Richard Posner are now referring to it as a depression. Hmmm.

Original article: A day at the Mall

Time flies by, but this is the longest eight years I've ever experienced.

HAPPY REGIME CHANGE EVERBODY!!!!!

Another fox guarding the henhouse?

I guess we'll have to "look into" whether it's realistic to think we're going to have a socialist utopia come this time next year. I'm still deeply thankful these eight years are over and I don't have to face McCain's lizard jowl for the next four. *Whew!!*

Heh,heh,heh...

Barney Frank said that "conservatives believe life begins at conception and ends at birth". Hmm... Maybe there's a little something to that?

Chutzpah?

It's nothing like that at all. It's a tic. And simply more irrefutable evidence that the GOP has become an empty vessel filled with bad ideas and poorly formed notions presented as a philosophy, packaged in deceptive euphemisms, like "compassionate conservatism", designed to obscure or outright hide their true dishonest agenda.

If they c-c-can't get their t-t-t-tic under control they're just going to give more of their seats to Democrats in the next round of elections.

What a pleasant surprise!

The whole appointment screamed conflict of interest. Daschle: the man is a whore.

Good luck Barack Obama!

Sadly, if all this fails it will be blamed on Obama, not on the fat, decadent, craven American people where the real blame belongs.

Over and over I've heard, or seen written, that two thirds of our entire economy is propelled by just our consumption (buying shit 'n stuff 'n more shit!) alone. How can anyone not be a little worried about something like that? If this is the case then we've been due for a little correction for a long, long time now.

It's a shame it had to be done after the barn door got closed and after the horses have bolted and after Rome burned and Greenland melted and... Oh well, soon enough.

If you want to truly understand how America fucked itself economically, just take a long perusal of Americans drug use patterns - both illicit and legal pharmaceuticals. Americans mainline ARMs exactly the way we consume food, smack, sex and just about everything else.

Good bye, Greenland and all your stupid ice.

Twitter? Oh please, how rich is that?

I saw a long documentary about the ole' Dolly Llama, with an extensive interview of him, several years ago.

Twitter how perfect, because that's exactly the conclusion I came to regarding The Dolly: A twit.

I'd like to say that I'm surprised...

I'm not.

When I voted for Obama - like I always do - I held my nose and voted against McCain. Certainly after Barack Obama changed his position on the FISA/TeleCom immunity legislation before becoming president there would be serious deflation of my personal Obama balloon. My balloon is already punchy and limp. *sigh*

Thanks for fighting the good fight. Your blog is an indispensable read.

Bunk!

Marijuana use does not cause or exacerbate manic episodes. And if you or your doctor think so, then your just full of crap... Or just making an issue out of nothing. Now, drinking alcohol to the point of inebriation may indeed be something to worry about because of alcohol's affect on a person's inhibitions... But all hard drugs, like alcohol, are dangerous - everybody knows that.

Bipolar? What the heck is that anyway? Nuerosis heavy? Psychosis light?

Whenever I start getting animated - or the sure sign: insomnia - I stop drinking coffee; make absolutely sure I get regular sleep; up my melatonin intake and exercise a little more. I haven't had a disruptive manic episode in twenty years. You need to fire your doctor.

Sheesh! Smoke the pot and chill out, OK?

Original article: Party on, GOP

My daughter... blah, blah, blah.

I thought I was going to read something insightful about the GOP. Instead, using the topic of the day in the thinnest guise, you regale us with a brag-fest, detailing your "liberal" bourgeois lifestyle. Nice for you.

I live in S.F. and see every day the types of cars people drive and have parked outside their condos. It makes me sick.

My father was blacklisted during the McCarthy period. My father said the people who screwed him over and sent him down the river the fastest were liberals and people with leftist political views. Scratch the brie and what is underneath? The bourgeoisie.

"The wine and brie set"... Sooooo true.
