Just got SHOWTIME tonight to see what the fuss was all about and caught the tail end of marathon reruns of Season 1. Well, "Weeds" is wonderful, witty, wacky and wise, affecting and annoying all at once. Great showcase for the underappreciated talents of Mary-Louise Parker and Elizabeth Perkins (who look so alike they could be sisters). Looking forward to more of "Weeds"! Showtime sure is giving HBO a run for its money.

...and moving review. Can't wait for it to hit my local cinema screens! As for the alleged spoilers? What is there in the article that the whole world doesn't already know about this episode in the Queen's life?

...I hope that Sacha Baron Cohen and his producers decide to compensate Dharma Arthur for her job loss resulting from Borat's disaster-causing appearance on that TV show, though. You have to feel bad for her and her major loss, if that story is true.

We don't need yet another story on Princess Diana - has the press not had enough of this tale yet? And why is Salon reviving this subject today? What pertinence does it have to anyone reading this on this day? And why, for heaven's sake, should we care about how Diana became a humanitarian (if that's truly to be believed)?

I vote for taking down that photograph that merely assaults the senses, and relegating the article to the side bars. Based on the content of every single letter here, this new blog by Tina Brown on a long-dead celebrity (who gave the world - what, exactly? The genuine humanitarian who died that same year, as the other letter poster pointed out, was Mother Teresa!) is a complete waste of everyone's time, and of Salon's precious megabytes. For this I'm paying good money? Say it ain't so, Salon.

I was really touched, among other things, by the bit about daughter Cady saving up her babysitting money to send her parents to a Hawaii vacation. Wonderful story of real family love that makes one feel good amid the nastiness of the current election season.
