But...

Well, I've read all the comments, all eleventysomthin' of them, and, oh my, no one seems to get it.

We're lefties.

We are the nazis, the commies, the socialists, the enemy of America. Always have, always will be. It's a given. It's always open season on us.

THEY make the rules and the rules only apply to us because 'extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.' When you are trying to crush your enemies, anything goes. That's why THEY are allowed to do everything we're forbidden to do.

Good for Glenn for highlighting this huge double standard. Maybe some of them will get a belated conscience and slap down a righty or two, but the fact is, no matter what we do, no matter how hard we try to police ourselves and play by the rules, they will always find something to twist into a new outrage.

By playing by their rules we are playing their game. It's time to stuff it back in their faces and up their asses. If we find legitimate parallels between the Bush Administration and Nazi fascism of the 1930s, throw it out there. In normal times it might pay to be civil, but we're fighting for our former country's survival now and it's time we stopped worrying about what people think about us.

We Must Also Put Pressure on Sen. Dodd

I called Sen Dodd's office to thank him for putting the Hold on the FISA bill and then I asked about the possibility that Sen. Reid might override the hold. The staff member told me the Hold won't go on until the bill is reported out of committee, and only if the amnesty language is still included. At that point it's up to Sen. Reid and she suggested I get in touch with Sen. Reid's office about my objections.

Personally I think we should also put pressure on Dodd. If he doesn't have enough skill or clout to get the Majority leader of his own party to respect his hold, what kind of President would he make?

This is going to be my litmus test. If Reid ignores Dodd's hold and lets it come up for vote, then I'm crossing Dodd off my list of favorites (although it may be moot because if Reid does this I may just leave the Democratic Party...no money, no votes).

The Ultimate Test

I was a branch chief at the Dept of Commerce for years and all of my employees dealt with the public. Not all of the people we dealt with had nice things to say about our agency but that's part of the job. If one of my employees responded with even one-tenth of the animosity contained in Col. Boylan's email to you, that person would have found themselves searching for misfiled paperwork until I could get him or her off the team, and I would have had the support of management right up to the top.

If Col. Boylan wrote this and does not lose his job for it, that will be the most conclusive proof yet that the military has been turned into just another wing of the GOP.

Just Another Example of the Democratic Party's Ineptness

Something is seriously wrong here.

Joe Klein seriously misrepresents a Democratic bill of great importance - even going so far as to call the Democrats beyond stupid - in one the county's most influential weekly magazines and its up to Glenn Greenwald to point this out to the public? Where the f*** is Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic authors of this bill????? You can bet the farm and throw in your daughter that if Klein/Time did this to the Republicans there would be serious hell to pay.

This is what really pisses me off about the Democrats. Our leadership hasn't a clue about the use of power. Pelosi should confront Time and tell them that they either print a prominent correction and an apology or she will call a press conference and blow Klein out of the water.

Time's Circulation is Plummiting

This is interesting. According to Wikipedia, in June 2007 Time's circulation was down to 3.4 million compared to over 4 million a year earlier. That is a precipitous drop in just one year. is the public catching on to Time's sloppy news reporting or are magazines going suffering the same circulation decline as newspapers?
