Making a list, checking it twice

FROM DADAGUYX: "When the fall comes, we will have a strong result. BO will be PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA. Then we will be accounting for WHO HELPED and WHO DIDN'T HELP. If YOU HELPED, the door will be open. Your issues will be heard. Your problems will be solved. If YOU DID NOT HELP, NO ONE WILL GIVE A SHIT about you."

Dadaguyx, the last person I recall talking this way was Richard Nixon when he ordered that a list of his enemies be compiled so that they could be punished.

If Obama had lost the nomination, I can imagine the reaction if his supporters were told that if they didn't fall in line behind Hillary immediately, they could take their issues and go to hell.

Making a list and checking it twice

Party unity? Sen. Obama needs to talk to his own supporters about that one.

Here's what DADAGUYX had to say to help the healing process: "When the fall comes, we will have a strong result.

Dadaguyx, the last person I recall talking that way was Richard Nixon when he ordered his staff to compile a list of his enemies so that they could be punished.

If Obama had lost the nomination, I can imagine the reaction from his supporters if they were told to fall in line behind Hillary immediately or they could take their issues and go to hell.

Mind control

While many of her supporters would follow Hillary Clinton to the gates of hell, not all of us have decided yet if we will follow her into the voting booth to cast our ballots for Barack Obama.

She will campaign her heart out for him because she is a woman of her word and wants to do what is best for the Democratic party.

But she cannot control the fact that for a lot of us, questions linger about Sen. Obama's qualifications and positions.

In a trance?

Trance 23, please tell me that the following post of yours is dripping with sarcasm:

"In Obama We Trust". This is the motto we must live by - if we are to see real change in this country. I may not always agree with Senator and President-to-be Obama - but I trust him, and that is all I need to know.

Likewise with Mr. Olberman. Mr. Olberman is a passionate and fearless defender of the faith - so if Keith supports Obama's decision to defend the Telecoms spying on us- even if it is a trifle discomforting- then so be it.

I know it is a hard pill to swallow - but Obama has our best interests at heart. He is truly inspiring - and it is certainly worth the slight erosion of our constitutional rights to give us CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN

Go Obama

No second place

I hope all the Obama supporters who violently oppose his choosing Hillary Clinton as his running mate get their wish. Then the choice won't be nearly as difficult for those who might be swayed to vote for him if she is on the ticket.

I've read repeatedly that anyone who doesn't support him is a Republican, a feminazi or an uneducated racist and that he doesn't need any of those votes to win.

If Sen. Obama didn't think he needed the votes of Sen. Clinton's 18 million supporters, I don't think he would be appearing with her and talking about how great she is.

Change, change, change

Sen. Obama's supporters are now spinning his spins on issues like FISA and withdrawal from Irag as examples of how he is a true leader who can change his mind when he is presented with new information.

When anybody questions him, his response is that we don't grasp what he is saying or we haven't really been listening if we think his position today is different from his position yesterday.

Every day, he reveals himself as more and more of a typical politician who will say or do nearly anything to get elected. The difference is that he was presented to voters as somebody who is above politics as usual.

There are those who will vote for Sen. Obama no matter what he says or does. No words from Joan Walsh or anyone else will persuade them to take a hard look at this candidate and decide if he is really the man they thought they were voting for in the primaries.

The wrong Edwards

If Obama asked Elizabeth Edwards to be on the ticket, it would make more sense. She's a bright, courageous, well-spoken woman who was the best thing about her husband's campaign.

I don't think John Edwards brings anything to the ticket. As the 2004 election showed, he can't even carry his home state.

Bad and worse

Voting in a Democratic Congress seems to have accomplished absolutely nothing that we hoped it would after the 2006 election. It doesn't matter who we put in office, we get the same result.

A Democratic Congress should have moved immediately to impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney, but in this country we impeach presidents for sexual improprities, not war crimes.

A friend, who is equally disgusted with the lack of action in washington, suggested that we scrap the whole thing and return to being part of the British empire. At least the debates in the House of Commons are on a more intelligent level, health care is afforable and the British people don't have to wait four years to get rid of noneffective leaders.

Taken for granted

Sen. Barack Obama and his advisers are counting on women, progressives and African-Americans all voting for him no matter what he does because, as his supporters often say, we have nowhere else to go.

So he's running to the middle as fast as he can, focusing on evangelicals, independents and traditionally Republican states, assuming he doesn't have to work to keep the Democratic base.
