[Read the article: Repeal the Second Amendment]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"If the Supreme Court considers gun control laws unconstitutional, how can they exist?"
-----------------------
The Supreme Court does not consider gun control laws to be unconstitutional, and neither do I.
While certain gun control laws may violate the Constitution, that doesn't mean all do.
=========================
"Why aren't they challenged? I can't remember the last time I heard about a gun control law being challenged in the Supreme Court."
--------------------------
Neither side in the Gun Control debate is ready to bring a case before the Court, and the Court itself has shown an unwillingness to address the issue.
There are numerous reasons for this, but the main ones are that neither side really wants an end to the debate. Both rake in millions of dollars per year on the issue, and it being definitely decided cuts off that source of funds.

"If WeikuBoy's facts are correct, it's because that hasn't happened in my lifetime."
------------------------------
WeikuBoy's facts are not correct, as the Supreme Court has never ruled conclusively one way or the other. However, almost every case has language that supports the standard model.
You won't read about the Second Amendment being a State right in the first 100 years of this country, because nobody considered it anything other than an individual right.
The National Guard was not even created until 1904, and that same act explicitly lists every male between 17-45 as a member of the militia.
======================
"I don't have a legal background, so you'll have to keep things simple for me."
You don't need a legal background. Use abortion as an example, it's legal, yet there are legal challenges and people trying to place restrictions on it.
The same is true with Gun Control. While you have a legal right to keep and bear arms, that doesn't mean there won't be legal challenges and certain restrictions.
