it is important to remember that lohan and hilton are borderline personality disordered with hysterical and narcissistic dimensions. take a good look at their mothers (and their absentee fathers) and you'll see that the fruit didn't fall far from the tree. personality disorders are notoriously difficult to treat b/c they are part of a person's character structure. substance abuse (which needs to be taken care of FIRST), lousy object relations, poor impulse control, exhibitionist behaviors...the list goes on and on. And for these girls, nobody (i wonder what the hell their shrinks are DOING with them) calls them on their illness. publicly, the only way to begin to treat these very, very sick women is to construct boundaries - something the pop culture media would find impossible to do - these ladies make them too much money. privately, these women need DBT treatment (a cognitive behavioral treatment) or at least long, long term psychoanalytic psychotherapy. they are like jelly inside, conforming and metamorphisizing themselves to whatever or whoever writes a check or provides emotinal build-up. borderlines are industrial strength crazy, but they are indeed suffering individuals. ignore them if you can (as if you can ignore a train wreck!) but they ain't going anywhere. they need you to define who they are.

your drinking and medication are a bad marriage. because of the interaction in the central nervous system, the combination will inevitably lead to blackouts where you won't know if you drove or not until there are serious repercussions.

this is great info to store and use. however, i have a question. how do i stop the spam that solicits bank information? what i'm referring to are the emails i get from places like africa or eastern europe that are written by "barristers" who claim i've inherited money only if i supply my bank information. these scams are no doubt bilking people out of their money (if they are so gullible to comply), but how do i get these horrible letters to STOP? any advice????? any research done on these particular menaces?

i was waffling between hillary and obama but after seeing this photograph, my vote was finally cast for hillary. this is the face of a woman who means business, who works hard despite the personal and physical toll it has taken on her life - a woman who is dedicated, strong and committed. this is a woman i want running our country.

the obsession with watching the mighty (or at least famous) fall, is all about envy. envy, in case you didn't know, is not about simply coveting something that somebody else has, it is about destroying what the other has because the destroyer isn't able to have it for him/herself. we destroy the good in others or exploit the vulnerable in order to acheive our own narcissistic sense of worth which is built on nothing more than a flimsy sense of self made pseudo-real by brand names and pockets stuffed with cash. this past year has indeed spawned a particularly vicious brand of gossip and character assassination and has at times been tempting to taste and repeat at the water cooler. it will be difficult no doubt as i have been injesting such garbage even since the dawn of page 6, but reading this stuff of late is like gorging on cheeze puffs and fried doughnuts. it feels somewhat good going down, but leaves one hell of a sandy, gritty, bitter aftertaste. the only way to rise above the literary grime, is to simply quit reading it. lord knows the time has come.

this article would make a terrific book along the lines of susan orlean's (sp) the ghost orchid. makes me long for something i've never even tried. now that's good writing.

these women are touted as having taste and class. i've seen more elegance coming from a cat grooming itself. these women may be dressed well, have smooth skin and dine at three star restuarants regularly, but their transformations are truly like putting a mink coat on a pig. the result is that it is still a pig. fortunately at least a pig produces food. all these women produce is hot air and mean spiritedness. what dreck....will it EVER end?
