Here's real sexism, but please keep ignoring reality

Woman gets probation in underage sex case

By John Aguilar, Daily Camera

Updated 12:21 p.m., June 30, 2008

A 39-year-old Louisville woman who had two children with an underage boy was sentenced this morning to 20 of years probation and ordered to not have any contact with her children until she successfully completes sex offender treatment.

Irene Gomez, whose children were conceived with the boy when he was 13 and 16, had pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and attempted child sex assault as part of a plea bargain with prosecutors.

"I don't think there's any question that (if the gender roles were reversed) we'd be talking about a prison sentence here," said prosecutor Amy Okubo, who had argued for a tougher sentence.

Haha, stupid boys

They have to go to jail if they have sex, the girls don't.

Also, they are on the hook for child support when their female teachers molest them - stupid!!

You're right, TCF, they're so lame!!

@traduced!

Thanks for your fact-free, feminist post. Glad to see not evidence, but feelings are used to back up your argument.

There are hundreds of cases like this out there, moron.

Woman Who Gave Birth To Teen's Kids Gets Probation...

That says it all. He's legally on the hook for child support, too, when she goes on welfare.

Agreed - totally racist

I've spent many months in Japan on business. Life in Tokyo or Osaka is much like life in NYC.

Do we really need any more generalizations about other people on Broadsheet?

LS, you just took BS from parochial and naive to racist in one article.

@MaBelle

Thanks for your post. Men need to make sure they only use appropriate language when referring to women.

Negative terms, potentially derogatory or derisive language is never correct when referring to a person of the female gender.

Sounds like cluster headache, not migraine

Definitely need to see a neurologist. Sometimes anticonvulsants work for these. Make sure you see one who specializes in headache.

Women's rights

A woman is allowed to kill children or fetuses with little or no consequences to themselves.

Or, a woman can force a man to subsidize her life for 18 years (23 in MA)by having a baby, with the backing of the state and federal governments.

The man forced to subsidize her lifestyle may or may not be genetically related to the baby.

Great system. Is it any wonder that men are no longer interested in marriage (=slavery) or that children in America are secondary to women when it comes to family life in this country?

Let's keep subsidizing single mothers and paying for juvenile programs. That's the feminist way.

@MaBelle

Bigoted, selfish and completely neglectful of half the human race.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Terrifying

Google must provide cheap (free would be better) daycare for all employees. They must!

Women's needs are obviously overlooked in the male-dominated Google cultural environment that degrades and devalues everything female.

Sad. Shocking. and Patriarchal.

Why

Why do feminists insist on men taking on key reproductive responsibilities when feminist groups fight to prevent men from having any reproductive rights?

No need to denigrate male football players. If you have issues about (your) being male, perhaps you need therapy.

A List

Why not just post a list of topics the white women of BS get upset about and have a database scour the newswires and automatically issue a post about how outrageous it is?

Yawn...Oh, ditto the above two posts. Hope my neighbors who are posted in Kandahar are ok.

Bad

It's sexist oppression and coercive "grey rape" if men get happy endings.

It's empowering sexual exploration if women get them.

*sigh*

Katie Couric is right. Carly Fiorina from HP (severance package = $37 million) and Jill Barad from Mattel (severance package = $50 million) were also victims of sexism.

They are all victims of sexism, and far, FAR more victimized throughout their whole lives than any black person can claim to be (median black household income = $30,100).

White privileged sisters unite!

@jebldmm

How can we censor these horrific actions and expressions you describe, and how can we lobby officials to punish offenders in civil court and/or get government programs in place to combat this oppression when it occurs against women?

@dexedrine

You are so right.

I'm sure most black people would agree with you, too, though they'd likely put up with the "ism" that Katie Couric faces that results in her getting paid $15 million a year.

Are you for real??

Hahaha

Yes, of course the ex-crack addict has to be telling the truth. All he's talking about is that his junkie ex-wife was an even worse parent than he was.

But of course, it's his "privilege" at work here, according to BS feministas.

That's why feminists are always in favor of joint custody....oh, wait.

Original article: 2 + 2 = duh

Can't be true

Women are oppressed by the Patriarchy, that's why Larry Summers had to go, and why government programs funding women to describe women's oppression by the educational system need to be kept in place.

But male children have no problems in school due to their "privilege".

Looking forward to the female math whizzes getting real majors and jobs and supporting their families. Oh, wait....

@SWozniak

You have "let yourself go" sexually, as well. Perhaps you need to find a companion who doesn't care about sex or physical intimacy.

Original article: "The View" from here? Bleak

Patriarchy

Sherri is a victim, and her dead children are aspects of her oppression that needed to be eliminated.

She had no agency, nor any adult capability of clear decision making during that period of her life. She was a passive puppet manipulated by males to become pregnant through absolutely no fault of her own.

Shame on all those men, and thanks to Sherri for relaying her brave battle against oppression.
