A lazy Mexican vacation turns sinister -- and grisly -- when a group of middle-class tourists become trapped at an archaeological site.
Did it occur to no one in the ivory tower of Salon's offices that those two words might not go together anymore? Or were you just being clever? Ironic? Post-hipster? Please tell me I'm assuming too much, and that a person of color wrote that sentence. No? Anyone? Bueller?
"Lazy" and "Mexican" are adjectives referring to the same subject. This is no worse than starting off a sentence by saying "A boring Canadian vacation". And I'm a Canuck who's seen plenty of those, believe me...
i just fininshed reading this. and it actually is a lazy mexican vacation, that's the point of the initial premise.
VERY GOOD READ! could not put it down till the last page!
Jeez, chill out. The VACATION is lazy, not MEXICANS. When you go to a resort in a hot hot climate near the beach, trust me, IT WILL BE A LAZY VACATION. Unless you're under, say, 16, in which case you will find things to spend your energy on. Cripes, can't people read a sentence anymore?
