Foreign correspondent and intellectual provocateur Chris Hedges explains why New Atheists like Christopher Hitchens are as dangerous as Christian fundamentalists.
  • The Biggest Sin of All...

...is to declare something the truth!

I'm a fundy, Jesus Freak, etc., (and I'm dangerous how...?) but I much prefer a dyed-in-the-wool atheist to someone who is so horrifically castrated and unmanned by postmodern liberalism that he cannot even declare there is truth in the world!

If you believe the facts support atheism, you have an obligation to defend atheism! Those people, I can debate. I can see their point (having been an atheist for over 30 years before I was born again) and I can respect them.

But as for people like Hedges who equate someone declaring a truth to be 'chauvinistic and intolerant,' well, I can only pity them. (Don't fear them, because they're so far out on the fringes of human intellectualism it's not funny.) They are the ones trying to make it seem that there is no truth in the world, and that the biggest sin is declaring that man is capable of discerning right from wrong.

    Peace,
