You say
...Bush Derangement Syndrome like it's a bad thing.
BTW, Joan, could you please host that Blackface Joe pic somewhere else? It's on a rightwing nutjob site called "moonbattery.com."
(It's most likely a secret new Republican plan to position artillery on the Moon to help fight the GWOT, or something.)
Count me as another rabid, dangerously violent, feces-flinging surrender monkey who'd be happy if we could just spend the next 4 years undoing the Mayberry Machiavellis' clusterf$&k.
Oh yeah, and prosecuting the former occupants to the greatest extent possible.

I Dunno
Why I should support Dems over Reps or Reps over Dems again?
Both parties are much the same, eating the US out alive. Ron Paul, the only dissenting voice, is completely neutralized and marginalized.
Half of Mexico is streaming over the border (40 million are already here) and you think this is NOT a problem?
The wealthiest nation in the history of the world, and the infrastructure is collapsing, I drive over knee deep potholes in Houston, the US is verging on bankruptcy, and I'm supposed to bother picking Internationalist Socialist Flavored Party A.1 or Internationalist Fascist Flavored Party A.2?
Maybe we need to begin admitting to our slower brethren that YES, indeed the country is being sold out from under us and that YES indeedie, we are no longer a sovereign nation on paper.
Democrat? Republican? Their true constituency is the corporations who could care less about America as a nation.

We don't need no stinking New Deal or Great Society
With poor and middle class people not able to find decent jobs that pay a living wage and include benefits and pensions..and citizens losing their homes to foreclosure and having to work three jobs to make ends meet..maybe we need to have another look at the much maligned social problems that pulled us up in decades past. It might not be a bad idea to set some Americans to work, say, repairing bridges that are about to break, instead of giving it to Hallburton. The New Deal and the Great Society were good ideas, for the most part, and many Americans benefited from them...not just the nine white guys who rule the world.

@Garvey
Does your mama know you're out her on the intertubes, waving your "love weapon" around?

Self-defeating review
This is an awfully long review of a book -- and an idea -- the writer claims to disown.
Giving this book so many "column inches" on the web seems to defeat the very purpose the reviewer seems to espouse.

Bai has always written from the Right
"(It's worth noting that Bai seemed to heart Warner as well. He wrote a flattering profile of Warner in the New York Times Magazine earlier that year anointing him as the man who could beat Hillary Clinton.) "
Based on Bai's various NYT articles, I always assumed he was in the right-wing corner of the DLC. I read his article on Warner as an indirect hit piece, starting with the grotesque cover photo of Warner, and as pro-Clinton maneuver. I was not surprised when Warner pulled out of the race, and think it's likely that he cut a deal with Clinton for the VP spot, should she win the nomination.
Re positive v. negative messages: Republicans' messages have succeeded because they are so extremely simplistic. That's possible because they benefit a small, homogenous group. Democrats' messages have to cover a broad, complex group of beneficiaries, and so can't stoop to boilerplate slogans. It's not positive v. negative, it's simplistic (simple-minded?) v. complex (attentive).

Bai is an ass.
And he's blind.
Dems stand for universal healthcare, and end to imperial wars, restoration of the constitution, sane environmental policy, and the right of working people everywhere to eat. I know that and I'm not even a freaking thinktank superstar or pompous pundit.

This is ridiculous...
This charge of "Bush hatred" has gotten so beyond anything comprehensible that it is simply a caricature of anything resembling an intelligent argument. Why is it "Bush hatred" to oppose an illegal war that we are paying for in innumerable ways? Why is it "Bush hatred" to oppose violating the Constitution, the laws passed by Congress, numerous treaties that have the weight of law? Why is it "Bush hatred" to oppose disenfranchising countless voters? Why is it "Bush hatred" to oppose torture, war profiteering, or the continuation of horrible, destructive policy and politics?
And why is there corresponding meme in the media regarding "Clinton hatred," "liberal hatred," or any discussion of the right's need to have someone to hate?
Bai's "they all do it" schtick got tired years ago. Does dishonesty really deserve to be given the same weight as the truth? Still?
-
Bai's logic hard to follow
Why does possessing a "disabling hatred" -- whatever the hell that is -- towards Bush, when the majority of Americans also hate Bush -- hurt Democrats? Since when was being in step with the American public are bad thing, or even political precarious?
Amazingly, with all that's written about politics in today's media, both new and traditional, how few really know what they're talking about. It's kind of like expansion of Major League Baseball: sure, there's more Major League players, by definition, but the talent pool can't absorb all those extra roster positions without a lessening of the overall quality.

You have to ask, Why Reid and Pelosi are just about brain dead
Be Happy, Don't worry. Karl (Treason) Rove with still be around to screw up the Democrats heads. The Democrats don't know how to play the game of Misdirection. To start they should start their own FEAR tactic, like If they attack us here it will be easier to fight them as we will give them terroist uniforms so they will be easily recognized. make up lies like the Repugs do and did. Remember the Repugs LOVE wars as that is when they make money, their is no money for them in Peace times. Have you ever heard a Repug say they want Peace?
Just remember in September (after you give yourselves a raise) to first begin with Impeachment proceedings of Gonzales the Idiot, that will at least show that Reid and Pelosi have some spirit (balls) Then maybe someone will think they are not so LAME, which they are, are you confused? The Repugs taught me how to write this way, its called Misdirection.
