Their Fear is Palpable

The Unstable/Unable ticket of McPalin has no recourse but to fall back on slander, deceit, innuendo and lies.

It's Desparation Hyperdrive for them and they have nothing to lose - but the election - and because they have no cohesive platform to stand on, the only thing left is to speed-read the Karl Rove Playbook of Filthy Politics.

But I don't think it will work this time. Not for the voters and not for the media. It stinks. And every time we get a whiff it takes us back to Bush 2000 and Bush 2004, and that simple fact will cause people to pause before allowing themselves to be fooled again.

We are in a time of financial upheaval, insecurity and distrust of the powers-that-be, and it will express itself as ANGER.

Obama can attempt to stay above the fray (which for the most part I believe he should) but we CAN NOT!

We must fight back with everything we've got.

First Things First

I see no relevance in attempts to define the LW's quality of relationship to the level of pain she's experiencing anymore than to compare the quality of pain one experiences by having one's thumb smashed with either a rusty hammer or a 24 karat crowbar.

She is in pain. The questions of what, where, when, why or how this pain was inflicted is secondary and should be answered only after answering the most important first question:

Who inflicted it?

The answer is she did.

Only when we take full ownership of our personal experience can we begin to understand it.

Only when we take full responsiblity for the personal reality we ourselves create, can we become empowered to re-create it.

And only when we understand that are thoughts, feelings and beliefs define our interpretations of experience - NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND - can we expand human consciousness and move forward toward value-fullfillment.

Such very human experiences as the LW's are meant to bring us to this simple, yet greater undestanding, and I wish us all God-speed.

Original article: Must I fake it?

Self-consciousness

Introversion is simply a manifestation of self-conciousness.

"Self-consciousness is an acute sense of self-awareness. It is a preoccupation with oneself, as opposed to the philosophical state of self-awareness, which is the awareness that one exists as an individual being; although some writers use both terms interchangeably or synonymously.[1] An unpleasant feeling of self-consciousness may occur when we realize that we are being watched or observed, the feeling that "everyone is looking" at us. Some people are habitually more self-conscious than others. Unpleasant feelings of self-consciousness are sometimes associated with shyness or paranoia. According to Shopenhauer, man can, through self-consciousness, an awareness animals lack, make a choice between affirming or denying the will."

Unlike self-awareness which in a philosophical context is being conscious of oneself as an individual, self-consciousness, which is being excessively conscious of one's appearance or manner, can be a problem at times. It is often associated with shyness and embarrassment in which case it is synonymous with humility which is characterized by a lack of pride and this alone can affect self-esteem. In a positive context, self-consciousness may affect the development of identity, because it is during periods of high self-consciousness that people come the closest to knowing themselves objectively. Self-consciousness affects people in varying degrees, as some people are constantly self-monitoring or self-involved, while others are completely oblivious about themselves."

"Psychologists frequently distinguish between two kinds of self-consciousness, private and public. Private self-consciousness is a tendency to introspect and examine one's inner self and feelings. Public self-consciousness is an awareness of the self as it is viewed by others. This kind of self-consciousness can result in self-monitoring and social anxiety. Both private and public self-consciousness are viewed as personality traits that are relatively stable over time, but they are not correlated. Just because an individual is high on one dimension doesn't mean that he or she is high on the other."

In other words, stop denying your will, and by practicing doing so you will develop your self-esteem.

Everything beyond this is a by-product.

Who is this Great White Whale?

And why is he OBSESSED with homosexuality?

His discourse is that of a junior high school drop-out, angry at the world for his self-created failed life, and having never recovered from being sexually molested at an early age by his father he must resort to charming talk about long afternoon blowjobs from his wife and young boys asses in public parks, if only to camouflage the deep-seated fact that he actually liked it.

A Lesson Learned

Joan's INTEGRITY, not egotism, got the best of Joan.

Because she wrote a critical column concerning BOR's syndicated hate speech, she felt obliged to meet with him face to face and defend her position.

Though Joan's intention is completely admirable, she was handicapped at the start. She tried to match her integrity with his but the problem is that O'Riley has none.

I Don't Get It

So, in New Hampshire it is legal to carry a 9mm handgun strapped to your leg - within the vicinity of a president who has recieved more death threats in six months than Limbaugh has fat cells.

Is it legal for only ONE armed person at a time to attend a presidential townhall meeting or is it perfectly legal for 500 or 1000 people to attend locked and loaded during such an event?

I don't fucking get it.
