because much of this press corps got their "chance" at fame, power and money by spending every minute of the 90s trashing the Clintons. Broder, the so called Dean of the press corps, has long looked down condescendingly at that "white trailer trash" from Arkansas. Bill Clinton was hated and despised by the Washington elite from the beginning for daring to do what many of us were taught as children: overcoming circumstances (alcoholic stepfather, poverty, dysfunction) to become a Rhodes Scholar and a then the president. And even worse, he married a woman who DARED defy tradition (kept her own last name, became a lawyer when few women got that chance; worked against the status quo).

I do not believe the hatred of the Clintons had anything to do with Bill's indescretions, Monica, human flaws (certainly the Kennedy brothers are still worshipped by the press DESPITE their indescretions). It's about the "blue blood." W, a draft dodger, a drunk who went AWOL, a dolt who could not string together a sentence, was worshipped by the press corps who despise the Clintons, Al Gore, and anyone who supported them.

Obama is getting a chance because he is the first African American and because he and Michelle learned from what happened to Bill and Hillary. But give it time...soon enough the snob elites of the Beltway will become more and more about trashing the dems. After all the press elites are part of the plutocracy. They love their mansions, their power, their gated communities.

I have despised Dick Armey, Tom Delay, Newt and so many republicans like them for so long, and FINALLY, FINALLY some people in the media are not afraid to tell it like it is.

Hillary was never exaggerating the vast right wing conspiracy....they were there and they were as rude, as sexist as obnoxious as Armey was yesterday. Sadly the media played with them and many still do.

Chris Matthews has had Armey and Delay on so many times and even yesterday, said, "what Dick said was wrong but he's really a nice guy." The media gives these people an audience, a pass, and a free ride.

I was glad to see Joan stand up to the jerk. But it should have never happened. But sadly nothing will happen. I listened when Tom Delay and Matthews were, still on mic, trashing Hillary like two adolescent middle school boys making fun of the smart girl. NOTHING HAPPENED. Rush Limbaugh gets admiration from Brian Williams. Ann Coulter is pacified and given free advertisement all the time on NBC. Newt Gingrinch's behavior toward his ex wives is ignored while Bill Clinton was trashed by the media and still is, along with Al Gore, and Hillary, nonstop. These right wing crazies are coddled by the media? WHY? Because the media loves being a part of the plutocracy.

It's scary. It's sick. NOTHING will happen. Dick Armey will get away with this and still be respected by the media.

I am so frustrated with President Obama. I like him but I feared this from the get go. One of the reasons I supported Hillary is because SHE KNOWS. She learned first hand that the right wing does not meet us half way, does not care about anything except their and their rich supporters pocket books. I sure hope President Obama learns this sooner rather than later. We cannot get CHANGE if he continues to pander to these spoiled rotten brats aka the republican party.

One of the reasons I was a Hillary supporter (though I gave money to both Obama and John Edwards), was that she has learned (albeit the hard way) not to trust these a**holes. There's reaching out and then there's being naive.

President Obama wants to play nice. You cannot play nice with snakes, with obnoxious, sexist, racists creeps. Dems have been given a mandate. We need to use it.

AND WE, all of us, need to boycott misogynistic pigs like Matthews and his friends. Matthews continued to claim that Armey is just a nice guy that was wrong in his treatment of you. Matthews spoke highly of and to Delay after the man made some of the most obnoxious and rude comments about Hillary Clinton.

Those guys, Armey, Delay, Newt are NOT nice guys with flaws. They are selfish, self serving creeps. These are men who support policies that enslave young girls and women to work in sweat shops as long as they can make more money. Their greed know no limits. As long as they and their good old white boys can retain the money and the power, they will be happy. The left allowed the narration of these creeps to trash a brilliant woman like Hillary, to continue to insult Nancy Pelosi on a personal level. These men are Rush in power...Rush is them with an audience. We have no need for them to get a voice. It is time we put magnanimous behavior aside and kick these dirt bags to the curb...for good.
