Wow....you hit it, the nail on the head, that is...

I was speaking to a male friend, a Hillary supporter yesterday and he was relating to me how he was feeling. As a male, he told me, he was stunned by what this Palin nomination has done in regards to his wife, and the women he knew. He could not believe the intensity of their reaction.....their extreme anger and frustration. He wanted to know where I was.

And I related to him pretty much what you said.

For me, this is so frustrating, so anger inducing. I feel like my heart has been ripped out AGAIN. I will not tolerate sexism toward Palin or ANY WOMAN, not even from Palin. I believe she is the worst sexist of all, and yet because the MEN in HER PARTY, the leadership in HER party stands up against the sexism toward her, she gets away with using sexism again women. We're through the looking glass, down the rabbit hole; up is down, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum are running things.

I believe in my heart, had it not been for the blatant sexism in the media, a sexism I feel that Dean and the DNC allowed to happen as it worked to help further their desire to end Clinton's candidacy, she would be the nominee.

I am a woman of Hillary's age. I did not agree with Hillary 100% of the time on 100% of the issues. And in fact, I will probably never agree with ANY candidate, democratic or otherwise, 100% of the time on 100% of the issues. But like many women of Hillary's I worked for democratic principles, causes, legislation all of my life. While we (the women) pounded the pavement, knocked on doors, answered phones, volunteered, did GOTV years before it was "in", the men got the party leadership roles.

Like so many women in our age group, we watched as women who worked hardest were passed over as men much younger and with less experience got the leadership roles, the promotions, the jobs that should have gone to us. Hillary was going to do what so many of us were cheated out of ....get the job we deserved and worked for. But Dean, the DNC, the good old boys Kennedy and Kerry and, the suck-up dem girl, Pelosi, would not allow it.

NOW, Sarah Palin, may get to do what WE, not her, worked for and that makes me sick.

I will vote for Obama/Biden, not only because I am too smart to ever vote against my own interest, but also because Palin does not deserve to be given what Hillary (and I) worked for....

this election will remain a heartbreaking ordeal for many women. Once again, gender and age beat us down. Once again, the men (from both parties) got to get away with cheating.

The ONLY think some of us look forward to is that AFTER November, we want to take down the DNC and Dean for what they did.

To CeliaInS

Interesting you defend Brazille, spinning that she withheld her opinion until the primary was over. I was watching her as she went along with the "Clinton's are racists" spin on CNN. That was clearly playing the game. She knows better than anyone that the Clintons are not, were never racists.

Yet, while Carville and Begala were excused from their duties on CNN because of their bias toward Clinton, Brazille's bias was overlooked.

And I am an old feminist too. As well I am someone who worked for democratic/liberal issues way back in the 60s, the way Hillary did.

If any man did as much as Hillary Clinton did for liberal/democratic causes and was passed over for someone a decade plus behind in achievements.....well it would never happen. But it happened regularly to women. If you truly are an "old feminist" you would know that. You would know that women often did the hard work of the democratic party, walking the walk, answering phones, getting the coffee, typing up everything while the men sat around debating strategy, making the decisions. Then when it came time for the leadership positions, the men got them all.

That is what happened to Hillary. And 18 million of us experienced it all one more time. She walked the walk, talked the talk, worked hard her entire adult life, four decades worth, for liberal causes like civil rights, women's rights, children's rights here and world wide. In the end, her own party labels her a racist, and says the new kid on the block gets the benefits of her hard work.

If you do not get that, you are hardly a feminist.

Original article: Tina Fey on "SNL": Umm, wow

I have watched it over and over

WOW, Tina Fey nailed it...the writing was on the mark and the delivery was perfect. I just feel sad because even when in a skit, the Hillary persona tells the truth of who should have been the democratic candidate.

So....HOW DO WE STOP IT?????

Seriously, a lot of us feel as you do Glen. We see the evil behind this; we see the rich protecting each other and we see the government has become a plutocracy. HOW DO WE STOP THEM???? NOW? Before it is too late.

What's so sad is

that the average person is having no reaction. It's either over their heads (or they have been convinced it's over their heads, too complicated), or they take a "they're all crooks anyway" independent cop-out. But those same people see a poor person using Food Stamps to buy steak would go ballistic. A lot of the blame goes to the media for propping up the real crooks as "leaders" and trashing poor people as thieves.
