Oh, so much fun!!

I finally had to register to send in a letter, because Cary Tennis' column is so great. I have read 8 e-pages of the letters responding to "I hate buzzwords..." I had to read to the end to check that my pet peeve wasn't already mentioned; I hate "I could care less!" instead of "I couldn't care less..."

but I have had so much fun reading all this. The wine and lachrymose stream was enjoyable and informative. I never had heard the term in my life! I also love how many discussions about the correct use of language can lead to propositions of marriage. I, too, find it a turn on! Don't know if I should have hyphenated that? Also, I just finished reading a book that argues with Al Gore's fear mongering [again, is a hyphen necessary?] called Unstoppable Global Warming every 1500 years and so I was gratified to read many of the letters that actually referred to the scientific terms, too.

If we plant more trees, won't they use the excess carbon dioxide for us?

But Cary's point about the smoggy illustrative meaning of carbon emissions was wonderful, too. Ooh, I can't decide!

Terminal Narcissism and Edziu's Muse and Shakespearean Contributors

There are significant Narcissists in my family. Not one of them would be caught dead going to a therapist, because they know everything they need to know about themselves already, and do not need anyone else's help, thank you very much. They are the main source of my need for therapy.

Edziu's Muse: I thank you. Your letter described so many different styles(annoying ones)of communicating that I have problems with. The first one, of the person who tells you their entire schedule at breakneck speed, when you've only called to say hello, is my Mother to a tee! Maddening, but hey! I also got your point that there may be a style to my way of communicating, too.

And I also want to give kudos to the writer who says Fie on all those naysayers and blah blah blahers. I loved that. Put me in a good mood for the day!

You people are all so mean

I agree wholeheartedly!

And it was a chore for me to get through those nasty letters. I love the laughing-his-ass-off at all of us Cherokee writer, too.

You people who write "this letter is fake" responses are such assholes. Cary Tennis is an advice columnist. Most of his answers help a lot of people; some are wordy, but I like his kind of wordy. People who write in with helpful responses are good to read, because I learn a lot from them about many different topics including self-esteem issues and growing-up in a divorced family with touch-and-go education. You know, if you can't take the ugly bits and pieces of this kind of column, for everybody sake: STOP WRITING IN!! You do not sound like you know what you are talking about at all!
