I don't believe History is THAT linear, symmetrical or inevitable, but there is substance to Lind's argument.

I wish Obama luck. He is inheriting a catastrophe just as Washington, Lincoln and FDR once did and transformed the US and in large part the world, no less.

Let's hope Obama and his successors learn from History.
