News Flash!

Choices suck at all sizes! Unless you are tall and thin, nothing will look right on you. I am short and thin. I can technically wear anything from a 0 to a 4, but will it look good on me? No, because I am not a "standard" shape. So a 0 is baggy in some spots and tight in others. Same goes for a 2 or a 4. Yeah, I know, don't cry for me, Argentina... but I'm just saying that the ridiculous standard sizing doesn't look good on ANYONE! Except maybe runway models....

When the Population Grows Unfettered...

....Life becomes cheap. Quite plainly, we are bursting at the seams. Healthcare, among other things, is going to have be regulated if we insist on reproducing at will. You want 4 kids?? Fine, but something's gotta give and hard decisions are going to have to be made about who goes without....

This is GREAT!

I love it! Definitely buying more Totes / Isotoner products! I love what they did. World population is now nearing 7 billion... people should not be getting any special breaks for having children!

Original article: Street smarts

Unreal!

"Stranger Danger" is nothing new... when I was a kid in the 70's and 80's, there were the ads for missing kids on the back of milk cartons. I walked to school by myself starting in first grade. I had to cross a busy street to do so. When I was in the 4th grade, I started playing the alto sax and I carried it with me back and forth to school, uphill (only going home though!). My mother NEVER picked me up from school, even in inclement weather. Kids today will grow up to be a bunch of wusses.

What really struck me about the NYTimes article was that the kids were being chauffered everywhere, even just a few houses down the street. OK, I get that you don't want to let your precious cargo out of your sight, but what the heck is wrong with walking WITH your child to his or her destination??

STALIN??

The poor guy's name is Stalin? He has bigger problems in life!

He sounds like a real gem though, despite his unfortunate moniker...

I Don't Find Him Offensive...

Just... Not Funny.

I read his book and just felt kind of bad for him. He's an alcoholic and while things may be well and good for him now, in a couple of years, his liver will be shot and most of his relationships will be off the rails.

Original article: The bambino in winter

Meh...

... from another outlier.

Mom, CPA

Dad, PhD in History

Me, born January, MBA, successful career

Brother, born December, BS, successful career

The only thing is that I have wildly bad SAD, but I'm not sure that has anything to do with being born in the dead of winter.

Meh

The state of California is in the middle of a gigantic fiscal crisis. The victim has expressed a desire to just move on. It happened over 30 years ago. I think CA should be putting what little resources it has to pursuing current rapists living within the confines of the state, posing a threat NOW to the good people of the state of CA.
