Sharing the good word

Bamage asked:

"I'm sure this question has been previously posed, but is there anything the readership of this blog can do to help disseminate this perspective?"

What I do isremind everyone I know that Mr. Greenwald is a MUST read. And I am hoping they do the same. If people are not convinced, after reading Mr. Greenwald, that they have to mobilize, there is not much more we can do for them.

re: Moveon.org ad

I must admit that reading the comments in various progressive sites, many people were put out by the wording of the ad. Was it the most effective way to phrase it?

Opponents or enemies

"Cohen's disparate treatment of Bush and Sen. Clinton is striking. Under very similar circumstances, he slammed Sen. Clinton for her refusal to repudiate the MoveOn.Org ad, but declined to criticize Bush for refusing to repudiate the Swift Boat slander." Thomas c

The Republican smear machine which is really a character assassination machine should not surprise us because of the long record it has exhibited. We now know what it really is, so let's not waste our time arguing the point they are making. Arguing a point whith someone who is ready to destroy you might not be the best strategy to safety. They are not unbalanced potential murderers, they are cold blooded calculating character assasins. A low grade civil war is being waged. No guns but many victims.

Doomed?

I fully agree with this article. The vast majority of the Democrats who act as Glenn describe will be re-elected. What chance do we have with such a lot? Are we doomed?

PS: I still think the MoveOn.org ad was a blunder, but not a reason NOT to support them and a every reason the stand with them against the attacks of Republican Machine.

Doomed? - Correction

"but not a reason NOT to support them and a every reason the stand with them against the attacks of Republican Machine."

Moral blind spot or NO moral?

"Elephantman reveals his own moral blind spot."

@Paul Dirks

The elephant boy has NO blind spot, as a true blood Republican, he demands morality only of the other side. They are after all the chosen Party God designated to keep America Pure.

Total Cleansing

We can debate if we should or not go after Johnny Yoo. Mr. Greenwald is entirely right when he suggests we should also go after the big fish. There so many culprits in so many layers of the Administration, Business, Finance and the Press that it will take us a life time to give America back her fine looks. Let's get busy! The Moral Majority might get a new name: The Immoral Majority. See the movie/short story: Rain. Somerset Maugham.

Elephant Dung.

Will moral fortitude and justice prove what everyone already knows: the Right is a corrupt brain fart? Malfeasance, Corruption and Domination are the principal engines of their culture.

Torture sympathizers

The KGB, Alan Dershowitz, Nazis, the Argentinean Junta and most Republicans have something in common. Their hatred of ACLU? What else?

Saturday, April 12, 2008 03:07 PM

John Yoo, choir boy

(By the way, John Yoo never recommended nor would have tolerated any torture of any soldiers from any nation.)

@elephantman

nor has Rumsfeld, Cheney, Feith and al. They would NOT touch a fly.

These people are all GOOD americans we are very proud of. Role models.

Elephantman just does NOT get it. And all his confreres either. We can torture the rest of the world but they have no right to do it to us. We are angels and they are beasts. We have Truth on our side. Exceptionalism.

And Karen Hughes is still trying to explain to all the Arabs that America is a country of laws not of torturers. How is she doing in her difficult task?

Balance at NPR

When John Yoo is fired from Berkeley, NPR should hire him to balance Evil Bill Moyers.

Thanks Sandy Yago for the right metaphor!

"so if someone wants to lower them head fist into a bucket of shit, god bless him."

If only a courageous Republican had done that to the Boy President, we would NOT be in Irak now but in Afghanistan/Pakistan where the terrorists are.

"so if someone wants to lower him tiny head first into a bucket of shit, God bless her."

An other example of Elephantman choosing the scapegoat

Why is E. talking about Lyndie England and not about General Geoffrey D. Miller?

And why is Miller not wanting to visit Germany?

Keeping tab?

Is there a website which is listing the malfeasance and the turpitude committed by the present administration under the pretense of patriotism, security and morality?

Is there an other period in US History which approaches or surpasses this one for raping the American People and its constitution the way it has been unquestionably demonstrated the last eight years?

Sunday, April 13, 2008 07:21 AM

IF...

... there is such a website, it would be enormously indebted to Mr. Greenwald for the invaluable work he has done in the matter.

The eternal question

Why are WE staying in this destructive relationship?

Why?

Sunday, April 13, 2008 08:20 AM

An other important question

How long will it take so we can trust a Republican again?

Sunday, April 13, 2008 08:29 AM

Olive branch

Elephantman, vote for the Democratic Party candidate in November so you can, for the first time, experience real honor, compassion, respect, justice, equality, brotherhood and a non-destructive patriotism, in short, what you thought you were experiencing, but like the banner "Mission Accomplished", was nothing but grand delusion. Come and join sanity. As someone once said, it feels like taking off a very tight shoe. It is not that difficult and it feel so good. Leave pain behind. Experience what to really be alive feels like. Be, at last, all you can be.

Are we doomed?

"It's been clear for a very long time now that neither party has the good of the American people as a whole as a priority."
