[Read the article: My new roommate arrived ... with mom attached!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]does anyone have an opinion on this?
I found a subletter for my own apartment, however my landlords (a couple) are racist and the gentleman is African American. Knowing this, I still accepted his deposit having told him over the phone that I would rent the place on a first-come, first-serve basis.
My landlords are currently out of the country and will return at the end of the month, around the time this new tenant is slated to move in. I don't want to victimize this man by depriving him of his deposit but don't feel I should perpetuate racist behavior on the part of my landlords. Any words of advice?

Better yet...
[Read the article: My sister is a famous designer -- and I'm not!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If cognitive therapy hasn't worked, I'd direct you to the Enneagram - which sorts out a lot of this artistic envy stuff. Turns out, a lot of artists are prone to envy, and there's no real way to shut it out aside from being aware of it and not letting it hinder your productivity. Rather than allowing envy to get you down, let it fuel you - you are capable of more than you think.
Go to enneagraminstitute.com, and read the description for Type Four. Chances are that is what you are. Get a handle on your type, then gradually find ways to transcend it. Like cognitive therapy, it takes time to get the hang of but the rewards are worth it.
