Paperfog

I agree with your comments.

I have asked the DNC to take me off their mailing list around 10 times as I recall, to no avail.

Also, the democrats in congress are more than ineffectual. They are a disgrace!

There is an article in the NY Times that was interesting today equating the Clinton campaign to Gore's in 2000. She runs a tight ship just like Gore did. And like her, he had this girl telling him how to gesture, dress. speak, walk, etc. He came across as stunted and stilted in the debates which I feel he lost, because of the girl.

Kerry listened to his consultants and didn't fight back against the swift-boaters and to me that cost him the election. I personally couldn't vote for a guy who wouldn't defend himself.

One aside, I have now watched HRC's speech supporting the war a few times and she comes off as more of a hawk than Cheney. If she becomes the nominee the citizenry is going to listen to that speech 10 times every day.

You'rs screwed!

Sounds like a government office, so I am surprised anything gets done.

I have always been highly technical but I guess according to the "Peter Principle" I kept getting promoted to become a manager and therefore totally incompetent and massively unhappy. I empathize with you.

The only thing worse that managing a group of women is to be managed by one. There are exceptions, but in my experience they are insane, screwy, jealous control freaks who have to know exactly what you are doing to the nanosecond. Even when they do, they still don't trust you.

It's insanity!

When I was in my early forties and at the end of my rope I made a life changing decision. It was totally scary because I am very quiet and a terrible salesman. i said I will become my own boss and even if I just made one-third of what I was then making I would be happier than being a boss over a bunch of lunatics who needed to be consoled and comforted on a daily basis. No work ever getting done because of personal problems. I quake just thinking about it.

The first year in my own business I doubled my salary and never looked back. I don't know how you can last. Life is difficult as it is without a bunch of KOOKs pushing your buttons every day.

You hit a nerve!

I think back and remember the feuds that I had with Human Resources. God, what idiots! They could pontificate endless prattle with aplomb.

They would try to rewrite my blistering "performance evaluations" of the KOOKs working for me and give me inane advice on a daily basis. They hadn't a clue and were clueless to the fact that they didn't have a clue. What a madhouse!

Beltway Village

Glenn, Obama's speech-quotation is right-on and I think he is part of the solution. Thank you for always writing articles that are right on the money and timely.

During the run-up to the war Wolfowitz said there were several goals to be achieved in invading Iraq and that (my interpretation) W.M.D.'s were not the most important. If fact W.M.D.s were just a ruse to fool the American public.

I guess I would like to see a more precise listing of the people included in the "Beltway Village."

In trying to figure out why the U.S.A. pre-emptively invaded Iraq, certainly the influential neocons (PNAC) wanted to establish a foreign policy of intimidation. Around "Mission Accomplished" time, Krauthammer wrote an article saying that the U.S.A. finally got its foreign policy right;now the world knows not to screw with us or we'll wreak havoc on them.

Secondly, a U.S.A. presence in the Middle East in order to protect Israel, was desired by AIPAC and I think there is a close connection between the neocons at the AEI and AIPAC.

Thirdly, there was a desire by the major corporations to profit from such a war. The oil companies, from a stabilization of the Middle East, and then the Haliburton types, the mercenary types like Blackwater, and the construction corporations that benefit from rebuilding the bombed infrastructure.

Everybody would get a slice of the pie, make a lot of money, and the rich would get happier.

Of course, something went awry!

Who Cares?

"The latest revelations of lawbreaking, torture and extremism."

A remarkable amount of Americans really only care about tabloid news and wouldn't even think about voting. They feel the same way Britney does. Trust your president, because we voted for him. Anything he does is good for us and the country. 'Nuff said! Case closed!

And the evangelicals say the Bush would never do anything wrong. He is a man of God and God tells him what to do. He also supports creationism and hates abortion, and really, in his heart he hates the homos.

"You, you heretic are evil and will go to hell for even suggesting that he or his people would do anything sinful."

The administration wins again! Woe is me!
